Abstract
Description
PORTABLE A CHIP </ B> READER AND USE OF THIS </ B> PLAYER IN A </ B> MOBILE TELEPHONE The present invention relates to a reader of cards to </ B> laptop chip and more particularly a reader of cards to </ B> embedded laptop chip to < / B> a mobile phone. Indeed, in the </ B> frame of the invention, one will seek with a mobile phone a transmission capability whose functions combine well with the functions of a card reader to </ B > Chip that consist of passing relative data to </ B> a cardholder to </ B> chip. Nevertheless the card reader to the laptop chip could be connected to any other transmission device other than a mobile phone. Or again, the card reader to </ B> laptop chip could be just a device with a screen and a keyboard allowing only to get acquainted and / or put to </ B> day the content stored in the chip of the card to </ B> chip. The object of the invention is to solve the problems relating to the portable character of such a card reader to chip.
In practice, it has been realized that the transportation of these portable devices is in itself problematic. Indeed, once placed in a pocket of a garment, or even at the bottom of a bag, such a card reader to </ B> chip that has a slot card introduction to </ B> Chip is a natural receptacle for dust that small to </ B> small come to agglomerate. To solve these problems, it could have been provided to ensure that the reader, which includes including electrical probes to come into contact with chip metallization cards to </ B> chip, is located on an apparent face. It </ B> could have of </ B> so be easily cleaned by a user, with a cloth, or even blowing on it. However such a solution comes up against two problems.
On the one hand, the feelers, because of their flexible nature, have a certain fragility and are themselves subjected to tearing when they are transported in clothes, where they can cling in. floating threads in the pockets of these clothes. In addition, placing the probes on an apparent face makes it less reliable to set up and keeping the to </ B> chip against the reader. Or at most, it requires the intervention of the operator which neutralizes at least one of his hands and prevents the rest from manipulating a keyboard player in a free way.
The invention solves these problems by providing the reader with a shutter shutter. shutter flap is resiliently mounted in the card inlet slot to chip so, when no force is exerted on it, to </ B> shut off this admission slot. On the other hand a simple support of an attacking song from </ B> the card to </ B> chip against this flap of admission the escamote and allows a fair opening equal to </ B> the thickness of the board. A </ B> from this principle, the problems to </ B> solve were the problems of robustness of the shutter shutter planned.
Indeed, especially for portable devices, the weight carried is an important parameter to take into consideration. Thus for a mobile phone whose weight, commercially accepted, is between 80 </ B> and 100 </ B> grams it is not possible to provide a shutter device that would weigh much more than a gram. It is conceivable under these conditions that it is difficult with so little material to produce a closure shutter that is sufficiently robust, which resists to </ B> many manipulations. In the invention, in a preferred embodiment, the shutter has a profile whose shape is generally that of a letter L, the base of the L forming the flap itself and a wing represented by the elevation of the L being introduced to </ B> inside the reader (parallel to the direction of introduction the card to </ B> chip). The mechanism, particularly simple, closing elasticity of the flap is then achieved by opening the angle of the angle formed between the base of the L and the elevation of L. By acting thus it is achieved by robustness of the angle to </ B> can easily withstand the numerous card insertions to </ B> chip, about several thousand, for which the shutter must be provided.
The invention therefore relates to a portable smart card reader characterized in that it comprises an insertion slot provided with a shutter.
The invention also relates more particularly to a use of such a card reader to </ B> chip in a mobile phone.
The invention will be better understood from reading the description which follows and from examining the figures which accompany it. These are presented only as an indication and not limiting of </ B> the invention. The figures show : </ B> - </ B> Figure 1: </ B> a perspective representation of a mobile phone with a card reader to < / B> Portable chip according to the invention ; </ B> - </ B> Figures 2 and 3: </ B> Perspective representations of a lid and a base forming a chip card reader housing according to the invention. These figures show details of the shape and placement of the shutter of the invention ; </ B> </ B> - </ B> Figures 4a to </ B> 4d < B>: </ B> sectional representations of the portable reader of the invention without the presence of a card to </ B> chip and with the presence of a card to </ B> chip respectively.
Figure 1 </ B> shows a mobile phone 1 </ B> with a battery 2 enclosure itself, to </ B> title of preferred example, includes a card reader to </ B> chip. The battery pack forming a card reader has a slot for insertion which, according to the invention, is characterized by the presence of a shutter flap 4. The flap 4 here has a profile in the form of a letter L forming an angle bracket whose base 5 </ B> of the L forms the flap proper and whose wing 6 </ B> extends into the card reader to </ B> chip. To hold the flap 4, the casing 2 has a base 7 </ B> and a cover 8. </ B> A to </ B> bullet to </ B> read in the drive is intended to be inserted between the 9 </ B> edge of pane 4 and a leading edge 10 < / B> cover 8. </ B> When no to </ B> chip is present in the tent, stop 9 </ B> is in contact with the leading edge 10. </ B> When a card is inserted in the direction of arrow 11, </ B> that is to say 1 </ B> not completely perpendicular to the edge 12 of the housing 2, but slightly inclined upwards, the edge of the card to </ B> chip abuts against the leading edge 10. </ B> The edge of the to </ B> bullet then escapes to </ B> this leading edge 10 </ B> by pushing the edge 9 </ B> down in the direction of the arrow 13: </ B> towards the base 7, </ B> or the body of the mobile phone 1. </ B> action also has the effect of place the end of the wing 6 </ B> in the direction of the arrow 14, towards one of the edges of the cover 8. </ B> By doing so, the angle 15 < / B> formed by the flap 4 opens and allows to clear a slot 16 </ B> by which the edge of the card to </ B> chip then the card to </ B> chip can engage.
To prevent the flap 4 from escaping through slot 3, this flap 4 has a spade 17 </ B> that is naturally engaged to </ B> the inside of the base 7 </ B> of the case 2. The height of the 5 </ B> base of the flap and the spade 17 </ B > is larger than the opening of </ B> slot 3. </ B> When the base 7 </ B> of the case is covered by the cover 8 ,
         4 </ span> with its spade 17 </ B> is wider than the 3 </ B> slot and can not escape.
Indeed, without the presence of the card to </ B> chip, no dust can come to be introduced in the slot 3 </ B> since the stop 9 </ B> is bears against the edge 10. </ B> Furthermore, the addition of material ultimately corresponds only to the presence of the wing 6, </ B> the base 5 < / B> of the flap taking the place of a wall of the cover 8 </ B> and weighing substantially the same weight. The extra weight is therefore only constituted by the wing 6. </ B> It will be seen later that this wing 6 </ B> is itself openwork which reduces the contribution weight. As for the robustness of the whole, its simplicity of realization makes it possible to concentrate the matter there where it is particularly solicited: at the place of the edge 9 </ B> and to </ B> the location of the spade 17. </ B> The simplicity of the mechanism is also a pledge of resistance to </ B> several thousand card insertions to </ B> chip.
Figure 2 shows in perspective the cover 8 </ B> in an inverted position of that it occupies in Figure 1. This 8 </ B> cover has a 18 </ B> ceiling connecting 19 edge walls. </ B> The cover 8 </ B > also comprises a device 20 for closing the housing 2 allowing to </ B> resiliently block the base 7 </ B> against this cover 8. </ B> The figure shows in 1 </ B> slot 3 </ B> the presence of the spade 17 </ B> and in part the leading edge 10 </ B> present in the ceiling of the case 8. 6 </ B> has a perforated part 21 (corresponding to </ B> the place of a cut AA shown elsewhere in Figure 4a) for to </ B> allow the connection of metallizations of the chip of the board to </ B> chip with an electric probe present in the base 7 </ B> 2. The width of the perforated zone 21 corresponds to the presence in the base of a double reader, capable of reading card chips 7 </ b>. </ B> chip presented according to different standards, including an ISO standard where the chip is centered in the to </ B> chip and another standard in which the chip is rather present towards an edge of the to </ B> chip. A to </ B> chip 22 is thus schematically shown opposite slot 3 </ B> with two connectors, respectively 23 </ B> and 24, occupying the two possible positions (Of course a real chip card would only have one of these two connectors). The card 22 is intended to be inserted by pressing against the edge 10 </ B> and to </ B> passing between the wing 6 </ B > and the ceiling 18 </ B> of the cover 8. </ B> Once inserted the edges 25 </ B> and 26 </ B> of the card 22 are hidden by the 6 wing. </ B> Figure 2 shows that only connectors 23 </ B> and 24 would be visible. The ceiling 18 </ B> has to </ B> the location of an insertion of the ribs 27 </ B> having the effect of stiffening, while exercising a maintaining the to the </ B> smart card inserted so that the 23 </ B> or 24 connectors can come into contact with the electrical probes present in the base 7. </ B>
Le boîtier8 comporte encore des taquets28 et29 s'élevant le long d'une de ces parois de rive19 pour tenir un ressort30 servantà repousser une extrémité31 ou32 de l'aile6 qui viendraità son contact. ressort30 a forme en double baïonnette: une partie centrale33 du ressort étant prise entre les deux taquets28 et29, deux parties en décrochement venant appuyer contre les bords31 et32. Box 8 </ B> still has 28 </ B> and 29 </ B> lugs rising along one of these 19 </ </ B> to hold a spring 30 </ B> serving to </ B> push one end 31 </ B> or 32 </ B> off the wing 6 </ B> who would come to </ B> his contact. spring 30 </ B> has double bayonet shape : </ B> a central part 33 </ B> of the spring being taken between the two tabs 28 </ B> and 29, </ B> two recessed parts pressing against the edges 31 </ B> and 32. </ B>
FIG. 4 shows the base 7 </ B> in the same orientation as FIG. 1. </ B> The base 7 </ B> has a complementary anchorage 34 to receive the hook 20 Base 7 </ B> maintains a 35 </ B> PCB connected to a 36 </ B> and 37 Electrical Probe Set </ B> for to </ B> to make contact with connectors 24 or 23. </ B> Part 4 with its base 5 </ B> and the flange 6 </ B> is shown here returned, with its faces next to the to </ B> bullet. On its face next to the to </ B> chip 1 </ B> wing 6 </ B> card is equipped with skis 38 to </ B> 41 which allow, when de </ B> the insertion of a card, to avoid an unpleasant noise produced by screen printing prints as they rub into the slot. This unpleasant friction at </ B> the ear is avoided by the presence of skis that prevent the birth of acoustic vibrations. Figure 3 </ B> further shows that the spring 30 </ B> has at the ends of the recesses two strands back 42 and 43. The strands 42 and 43 are inserted into notches respectively 44 and 45 made in walls fixed for example on the printed circuit 35 </ B> and therefore ultimately idaires of the base 7 </ B> of the housing 2. The walls which contain notches 44 and 45 also serve to </ B> guide the board to </ B> chip so to </ B> that connectors 23 </ B> and 24 get together well in front of the probes 37 </ B> and 36. </ B> To limit the movement in the direction of the arrow 14 of J'aile 6, </ B> the base 7 </ B> of the housing 2 further has a stop 46 which presses against a song 47 of the wing 6. </ B> In practice the movement of the stop 9 </ B > according to the arrow 14 is limited to 1.5 </ B> mm whereas the depression of the edge 9 </ B> according to the arrow 13 </ B> is order of 0.8 </ B> mm (the thickness of a to </ B> chip). The assembly of the assembly is carried out as follows. Base 7 </ B> is equipped with 35 </ B> printed circuit board and 36 </ B> and 37 </ B> electrical probes and with spring 30. </ B> The flap 4 is then placed on the base 7 </ B> with the spade resting in a groove of this base 7. </ B> At the time of assembly the middle part 33 </ B> of the spring 30 </ B> is slipped between the wall 19 </ B> and the 28 </ B> and 29 < / B> cover 8. </ B> Once this assembly is done, the cover 8 </ B> can be pressed elastically against the base 8 </ B> and maintained to </ B> the latter by latch 20 - </ B> 34.
4a to </ b> 4d show in section in directions respectively AA BB CC </ B> and CC </ B> of Figure 2, the shape of the wing Notably on the section CC, </ B> we see that the wing 6 </ B> has a shape with a point 'inflection 48, a part 49 of the wing carrying the skis 38 to </ B> 41, another part of </ B> the wing 6, </ B> opposite to </ B> the part 49 with respect to the point of inflection 48, backing up against the 35 </ B> circuit board (or a base boss When a to </ B> chip is inserted a bending occurs on the one hand to the location of the 9 </ B> edge and secondly in response to the location of the inflection point 48. The distributed elasticity limits the forces and does not make it necessary too much rigidity of the flap 4, which otherwise could not be achieved with so little material. The perforated part of the flap 4 is thus preferably formed between two legs of the flap leading to the two ends. és 31 </ B> and 32. </ B> Between Figures 4c and 4d is measured the advance of the end 31 </ B> which abuts against the spring < B> 30 </ B> when a card is inserted.
</ B> figures, there is still the presence of the spade 17 </ B> which is maintained in a groove of the base bank 7. </ B> This spade is high enough to prevent the extraction of the flap 4 2. As the construction of the reader predicts, slot 3 </ B> is made at </ B> the junction between cover 8 </ B> and base L at least one of them, here the cover 8, has an open notch in which is placed the flap 4. The realization of such an open notch simplifies the realization of the reader which does not there is no need for slot 3 </ B> to place a hole lined of </ B> all parts.
The housing 2 formed by the base 7, </ B> the flap 4 and the cover 8 </ B> can in a preferred use serve as a battery box of a mobile phone . / B> In this case, the base 7 </ B> will have batteries, the connection wires of the probes 36 </ B> and 37 </ B> may be reported laterally, or supported by the 35 </ B> circuit board which also serves to connect all the batteries together.
