Abstract

The remote control system operates with an interactive control module (APPTS), a television receiver (TV) and automation detectors, antennae and networks internal to and external to the dwelling or office, and circuits for recognition and identification of the apparatus, devices and control functions. The television displays control menus and the television remote controller allows operation of the menus.

  The present invention relates to a global customizable event management system comprising an interactive remote control center with multiple functions. This control unit is connected to a television set and has multiple transmission, monitoring and control links

  external organs or devices.

  Various types of multiple alarm control panels are known which can manage several peripherals and which include home automation functions. We know from patent publication DE n 2832855 an alarm system incorporated in a television. This alarm system uses part of the

  television device circuits.

  Different variants are provided according to which various functions of the television and its

command are used.

  So, we use the keyboard of the TV remote control to dial the code

  A second group concerns the input links by an EXTERNAL BUS to detectors, sensors, probes, and various monitoring, alert or alarm devices. Each of these links is specialized. They are grouped after their specific cards on an INTERNAL BUS on which

  the information passes to the central processing unit UC.

  There is no limitation on the number of these connections with regard to applications of various types which may be found in a residential unit or

in an office.

  A third group concerns control links such as those to home or professional applications or to organs or devices such as heating management, the light regulator, an ALARM EXT outdoor siren, a household appliance, the opening-closing of

  doors, shutters, coffee maker, microcomputer or any other pictorial application

in figure 4.

  In addition to anti-security applications

Originality also corresponds to the use of a wireless remote control, for example with infrared or ultrasonic radiation which can be confused for recent models with that of television. The originality of the invention also resides in the fact that one can display the history of events which have occurred and in that one can display

  this history on the TV screen.

  For general operation, the display zones can be programmed and the

on-screen menus.

  We will now describe the various essential modules of the customizable event management system according to the invention comprising a central or at least a home automation-alarm module. The device is in the form of a box 1 containing the cards and modules. The box comprises a front face presenting in an elaborate version a digital screen 2 and a strip 3 of function keys in number at least equal to that of the applications, an input of a reader 4 of LECP smart cards as well as two diodes displaying the activation or deactivation state of the control panel. Box 1 contains a motherboard or central processing unit UC and a set of CF daughter cards assembled in a connector basket. Each CF daughter card corresponds to an application and is connected to the outside by a suitable socket or connector. Each application card works with software that can be

downloaded.

  The central unit includes a separate card or a slot on the motherboard for an MP microprocessor, a BATT battery, several memory blocks including at least a random access memory RAM, an erasable read only memory EPROM and numerous circuits

  integrated as well as a HORL clock.

  A RECTEL receiving circuit for the TELCOMD wireless remote control by infrared radiation, ultrasound or any other means allows

  communicate with the central unit UC.

  The motherboard shown in Figure 3 has the main components shown. It is the central unit UC with its microprocessor MP and its various RAM and EPROM memories, a HORL clock and a maintenance-free BATT battery for maintaining the voltage for the information to be preserved in the

erasable memories.

  There are also various integrated circuits CI1, CI2 ... CIn ensuring the connection with other organs. Note also the buses including an external BUS EXT bus for CAPDECT sensors and detectors and an internal BUS INT bus to the

specialized cards.

  Thanks to an adapted program, the operation of the central unit in association with the television makes it possible to cover all the possible applications open on request and on payment of a

  supplement to a basic subscription.

  Figure 4 shows the functions differently. The management of events and the control of actions are carried out by the mother board grouping the central unit UC and the microprocessor MP and by the circuits and programs of the mother board using the memories and specific internal commands introduced in erasable static memories

sent over the bus link.

  We can cite as event the intrusion detection, the decrease in exterior brightness, the temperature drop, the opening of the garage door .... The detected events are followed by an appropriate action which is programmed. This will be done through daughter cards CFA1, CFA2, CFA3, CFA4 .... of the action processing group in the form of an action such as triggering the alarm, lighting the lights indoor and outdoor, heating temperature increase, garage and cellar lighting .... or a

  telephone transmission to an outside center .....

  These daughter cards can be mixed and therefore accept instructions from outside via the telephone line or network, the remote control through the television set used as a screen, by a microcomputer or any other device or appliance. The bus microcontroller controls what flows on the bus. When it receives the information, it calls on the management program to send the information to the microprocessor MP for processing in accordance with the program. If it is an alarm detection for example, the instruction of

  alarm triggering is given immediately.
