Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a device for maintaining the qualities of the water in swimming pools and basins treated by chlorination, for reducing the emissions of nitrogen tri-chloride and chloro-halogenated gases in the atmosphere of these swimming pools and basins and for reduce the formation of organochlorines in the water of these swimming pools and basins.
Traditionnellement, la stérilisation des eaux de piscines s'effectue selon l'un des procédés : -introduction continue ou intermittente dans l'eau d'un produit désinfectant comme chlore, brome, polyhéxanide ou peroxyde d'hydrogène ; -électrolyse de chlorure de sodium ou de cuivre et argent ;
Ces procédés sont efficaces mais se partagent les inconvénients suivants : -dosage difficile à réguler en fonction du nombre de baigneurs ; -dégradation des matériaux constituant les parois des bassins ; -augmentation de l'instabilité du P. H. de l'eau entraînant l'usage d'acide fort ; -turbidité contraignant à l'usage d'un produit floculant aux effets secondaires ; -accumulation de résidus chimiques complexes ; -rejet d'effluents contenant des organo-chlorés difficilement bio-dégradables ; -émission dans l'atmosphère de tri-chlorure d'azote et de chloro-halogénés toxiques pour l'Homme et nuisibles à l'environnement ;. Traditionally, the sterilization of swimming pool water is carried out according to one of the processes: - continuous or intermittent introduction into the water of a disinfecting product such as chlorine, bromine, polyhexanide or hydrogen peroxide; -electrolysis of sodium chloride or copper and silver;
These methods are effective but share the following drawbacks: -dose difficult to regulate depending on the number of bathers; -degradation of the materials constituting the walls of the basins; -increased water pH instability resulting in the use of strong acid; -turbidity constraining the use of a flocculating product with side effects; -accumulation of complex chemical residues; -rejection of effluents containing organo-chlorines that are difficult to biodegrade; -emission into the atmosphere of nitrogen tri-chloride and chloro-halogens toxic to humans and harmful to the environment;
The device according to the invention overcomes some of these drawbacks and reduces the others. It includes: -a device for injecting pressurized carbon dioxide CO2 into the water, upstream of the water filtration unit, the quantity of carbon dioxide injected being regulated as a function of a continuous or intermittent reading of the hydrogen potential of the water and the active chlorine content of the water; a device for irradiating water, downstream of the filter or filters, by bactericidal ultraviolet radiation of wavelength 253.7 nanometers, in one or more treatment chambers according to the dimensional characteristics of the filtration group of the pool or basin water; a device for injecting chlorine into the water, downstream from the irradiation device, therefore in a sterilized medium, before the water thus treated is returned to the swimming pool or the basin, the quantity of chlorine injected being regulated by function of a continuous or intermittent reading of the water content of active chlorine.
The carbon dioxide injected into the water, upstream of the filter or filters, dissolves during the filtration of the water. This carbonation is regulated to maintain a relationship between H + and OH-ions, favoring the preponderance of the "active" proportion of the chlorine content of the water.
After carbonation and after filtration, the exposure of water to bactericidal ultraviolet radiation 253.7 destroys the reproductive capacity of bacteria in considerable quantities in the water which has just been filtered.
The regulated injection of chlorine into water, after irradiation, therefore in a sterilized environment, gives the water, before its return to the pool or swimming pool, disinfecting properties sufficient to protect bathers during the duration of the filtration of the entire volume of the pool or basin.
The destruction of the considerable quantities of germs, present in the water leaving the filter or filters, being ensured by the irradiation of the water downstream of the filter (s), the consumption of chlorine product no longer corresponds only to the consumption of active chlorine responding to the contribution of pollution in the swimming pool or the basin by the bathers and the atmosphere.
Le dispositif décrit ci-dessus procure les avantages : -le maintien dans l'eau d'une proportion plus importante de chlore actif (acide hypochloreux HOCI) que de chlore potentiel (ions hypochlorite CI0-) ; -la réduction de la consommation de produit chloré ; -la protection de tous les éléments de l'installation contre l'entartrage ; -la suppression de la nécessité d'utiliser un acide fort ; -la réduction des dégradations des parois causées par de l'acide fort ; -la réduction de la teneur de l'eau de la piscine en chlore combiné, chlorures et organochlorés qui polluent les eaux de rejet ; -une réduction de la teneur de l'eau en micro-organismes et donc en matières azotées, assurant une limpidité suffisante sans recourir à la floculation ; -une réduction des émissions de tri-chlorure d'azote NCI3 et des dérivés chloro-halogénés dans l'atmosphère ; -la réduction des causes d'irritations oculaires, gnes respiratoires, toux anormales, asthmes, rhinites, éprouvés par les usagers et personnels des piscines chlorées ; -la réduction des volumes d'eau et d'air à renouveller ; -la réduction des quantités d'énergie nécessaires au chauffage de l'eau, à la ventilation et à la climatisation des locaux des piscines et bassins couverts ;
La conjugaison des trois traitements"carbonatation régulée avant filtration","irradiation bactéricide après filtration"et"chloration régulée après irradiation"donc en milieu stérilisé, en s'appuyant sur les interactions entre potentiel hydrogène de l'eau, proportion"active"de la teneur de l'eau en chlore et teneur de l'eau en matières azotées, pennet d'optimiser l'action désinfectante du chlore, de faciliter la maintenance, de protéger les personnes et de limiter les effets pervers du chlore sur l'environnement. The device described above provides the advantages: -the maintenance in water of a higher proportion of active chlorine (hypochlorous acid HOCI) than of potential chlorine (hypochlorite ions CI0-); -reducing the consumption of chlorinated product; -the protection of all elements of the installation against scaling; -the removal of the need to use a strong acid; -reduction of wall degradation caused by strong acid; -reducing the pool water content of combined chlorine, chlorides and organochlorines which pollute the waste water; a reduction in the content of water in microorganisms and therefore in nitrogenous materials, ensuring sufficient clarity without resorting to flocculation; -a reduction in nitrogen tri-chloride NCI3 and chloro-halogenated derivatives in the atmosphere; -reduction of the causes of eye irritations, respiratory discomfort, abnormal coughs, asthma, rhinitis, experienced by users and staff of chlorinated swimming pools; -reducing the volumes of water and air to be renewed; -reducing the amounts of energy required for water heating, ventilation and air conditioning in swimming pool and indoor pools;
The combination of the three treatments "regulated carbonation before filtration", "bactericidal irradiation after filtration" and "regulated chlorination after irradiation", therefore in sterilized medium, relying on the interactions between hydrogen potential of water, "active" proportion of the chlorine content of the water and the nitrogen content of the water, to optimize the disinfecting action of chlorine, to facilitate maintenance, to protect people and to limit the perverse effects of chlorine on the environment .
