Abstract

Description

PACKAGING FOR A THREE-COMPONENT PRODUCT

  The present invention relates to a packaging, in two parts, comprising three compartments making it possible to store separately from each other, three components of a product, in particular liquids, and to mix them when they are used. This packaging can be used, in particular for the preservation of a hair dye or a product for permanent waving of the hair, these products being constituted,

  usually several components.

  A packaging in two parts allowing to store - two components, and to mix them during their use, is described in the document EP-A-0 298 357. This packaging comprises: - a first bottle intended to contain a first component, this bottle being open at its base and provided at its top with a dispensing tip; - An intermediate piece fixed on the base of the first bottle, and comprising a central chimney suitable for receiving, in the upper part, a removable shutter allowing the closure of the first bottle; - A second bottle, intended to contain a second product, provided with a neck suitable for being engaged in said central chimney, this neck being equipped with a closure cap for storage, connecting means, in particular of the threading type , being provided between the neck and the stopper, the assembly being such that when the stopper is removed from the second bottle, the neck of the latter can expel the shutter to allow mixing of the

components.

  Document DE GM 87 00 341 describes a packaging for the separate storage of three components, to be mixed during use. This packaging includes: - a first cylindrical upper container provided with a dispensing nozzle containing a first component, - a cylindrical lower body provided with a bottom to which two concentric cylinders of the same height are connected, the inner cylinder constituting a second container containing a second component, a third container being delimited by the volume defined between the two cylinders and the bottom and containing a third component. A stopper comprising two annular skirts is provided for simultaneously closing the second and third compartments. The cap further comprises a plurality of radial fins intended to hang on an internal rim of the first container, when the first container undergoes a relative translation relative to the second container, in order to separate the cap from the second and the

  third container and thus effect the mixing of the three components.

  By tests, the Applicant has found that, frequently, the stopper remains attached to the second and third containers and that the mixture of

  three components therefore could not be performed.

  Also, the present invention aims to provide a packaging of the kind in question whose manufacture remains simple and as economical as possible, which allows storage in good conditions, in a small footprint and which is a simple implementation , fast. Thanks to the invention, it is possible to condition, safely, several components, in particular of a corrosive nature, which must not come to the

  contact, with each other, only at the time of use.

  The subject of the present invention is a packaging which makes it possible to keep three components of liquid or pulverulent consistency separately, and to mix them at the time of their use, comprising: a) a first container intended to contain a first component, this container being open to its base, b) an intermediate piece, fixed on the base of the first container, comprising a central chimney suitable for receiving a removable shutter allowing the base of the first container to be closed, and c) a second container, intended to contain a second component, and provided with a neck, suitable for being engaged in said central chimney, this neck being equipped with a closure cap for storage, the assembly being such that when the cap is removed from the second container, the neck of the latter can, during its insertion in the central chimney, expel the shutter and allow the mixing of the components, characterized in that the second reci pient comprises an element defining a third container to contain, separately from the second component, a third component, said third container having a free edge defining an opening which, during storage, is closed by said plug. Thanks to the arrangement of the packaging of the invention, it is possible to ensure the good conservation of the components, before their mixing, during storage and / or transport, during a high conservation period, on the one hand without leakage. of product to the outside, and, on the other hand without inadvertent contact of a component with one of the other components.   So that the user can dispense the mixture obtained, the first container can be made of a compressible thermoplastic material, making it possible to expel a precise dose of product at the desired location. This material is chosen, for example, from low density polyethylenes. As for the second container, it is made of a rigid thermoplastic material, such as polypropylene or PVC (polyvinyl chloride), or else of glass. A container made of this latter material makes it possible to store, under good conditions, corrosive components such as hydrogen peroxide, or substances liable to degrade, such as the dyes used.

  Referring to the drawings, in particular in FIG. 1, one can see a package 1 in two parts 2, 4, allowing to store separately from each other, three components A, B, C, generally liquids, and to mix them just before their use: the first part 2 consists of an upper bottle 6 containing the component A, for example an oxidant, intended to be mixed, at the time of use, with the component B, for example a dye oxidation and a third component C, for example a perfume, enclosed separately respectively, in a lower bottle 8 with two compartments 10, 12. The two compartments 10, 12 constitute the

second part 4 of the device.

  The bottle 6 is open at its base, which is constituted by a first cylindrical neck 14 carrying an external thread 16. The neck 14 is connected to the bottle body 6 by a shoulder 18. A second neck 20, of diameter smaller than the diameter of the first neck, is arranged on the end opposite to the latter. The second neck 20 is provided with an external thread 22 on which is screwed a closed dispensing nozzle 24, the tip 26 of which can be broken to create an opening at the time of use, in order to apply

the product.

  An intermediate piece 30 comprising a cylindrical hoop 31 is fixed to the neck 14 of the bottle 6 and constitutes coupling means between the upper bottle 6 and the lower bottle 8. This intermediate piece 30, made of rigid thermoplastic material, has a central chimney 32, of substantially cylindrical shape, the upper end 34 of which ends inside the bottle 6. This end 34 delimits an orifice which is closed, in the storage position shown in FIG. 1, by a removable closure element 36. The plugging element 36 is in the form of a circular cup which is forcibly engaged, in leaktight manner, in the passage orifice 34, the peripheral edge of the plugging element comprising a circular groove 38 able to clip onto the end 34 of the central chimney 32. The plugging element 36 can be separated from the central chimney under the action of an axial thrust . The middle part of this central chimney 32 has an internal thread 35 whose role will be

explained further.

  The lower end 33 of the intermediate piece 30 is folded outwards in the shape of a "U" so that an external skirt 30a is formed, concentric with the central chimney 32. By this configuration in "U", a groove annular is defined, an inner surface of this groove having a thread 41 capable of cooperating with the external thread 16 of the bottle 6. The intermediate piece 30 comprises an outer skirt 42 constituting a covering skirt which forms the junction between the upper bottle 6 and the lower bottle 8

  (see Figure 3), which aligns with the outline of the two bottles 6 and 8.

  In the lower end 33 of the hoop is provided an internal bore 44 of diameter slightly larger than the diameter of the thread 41, suitable for creating a cylindrical volume in which can be housed a plug 46 of substantially cylindrical shape. This cap is mounted, by screwing, on a

  cylindrical neck 50 of the lower bottle 8.

  The lower bottle 8 comprises a body 48 containing the component B, this body being surmounted by the cylindrical neck 50, the height of the neck 50 being greater than the height of the central chimney 32. The neck 50 has an external thread 52 cooperating with a thread internal 54 correspondent of

cap 46.

  In the neck 50 is arranged a compartment 12 containing the component C. The compartment 12 has a cylindrical body 56 closed by a bottom 57 extending up to the proximity of the bottom 8a of the lower bottle 8, and having an open end 12a. The outside diameter of the body 56 is much smaller than the inside diameter of the neck 50. Four fins 58 are provided extending radially outwards, to connect the body 56 to a cylindrical connection ring 60 which is forced into the neck 50 (see in particular in Figure 2). An annular projection 62 formed on the upper part of the body 56 ensures the correct height adjustment of the body 56

in pass 50.

  The stopper 46 simultaneously seals the neck 50 of the lower bottle 8 and the compartment 12. For this purpose, the internal face of the stopper 46 has an annular sealing skirt 64, suitable for being applied to the internal face of the connection ring. 60. In addition, a central pin 66 is provided on the internal face of the stopper, capable of being inserted in a sealed manner in the end.

  The operation of the packaging which has just been described is illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4. As visible, in particular in FIG. 3, the user removes, by unscrewing, the stopper 46 from the lower bottle 8. While keeping this bottle straight , it then places the upper bottle 6 on the neck 50 of the lower bottle 8. By performing a screwing movement, the thread 52

  After a few screwing turns, the neck 52 comes to bear against the removable plugging element 36. It should be noted that a lug 68 is provided on the underside of the removable element 36, making it possible to initiate its disengagement from the upper end 34 of the central chimney 32. By continuing the screwing, the removable element 36 is raised, as symbolized by the arrow F in FIG. 3. FIG. 4 then shows the removable element 36 completely expelled into the bottle 6. In this position, the containers 6,

  8 and 12 are in communication, and components A, B and C mix.

  By agitation of the entire packaging, a homogeneous mixture can be ensured. Before applying the mixture thus obtained to the desired location, by a twisting movement, the user removes the tip 26. By turning the assembly, the dispensing nozzle 24 directed downwards, a dose of the mixture is distributed. This distribution is facilitated when one of the vials

  Advantageously, the upper bottle 6 is made of a material

  semi-rigid thermoplastic such as polyethylene or polypropylene.

  Thus, the upper bottle 6 can be compressed during the distribution of the mixed product. The dispensing nozzle 24 and the intermediate coupling part 30 are made, for example, of rigid polypropylene. As for the lower bottle 8, advantageously, it is made of glass or PVC (polyvinyl chloride) making it possible to condition in good storage conditions, for example, a hair dye. The compartment 12, intended to contain a perfuming composition in the case of a hair dye or a perm, is advantageously produced

  in suitable rigid thermoplastic.

Claims (12)

  1. - Packaging (1) allowing three components (A, B, C) of liquid or pulverulent consistency to be kept separately, and to be mixed at the time of their use, comprising: a) a first container (6) intended to contain a first component (A), this container being open at its base, b) an intermediate piece (30), fixed on the base of the first container (6), comprising a central chimney (32) suitable for receiving a removable shutter (36) allowing the closure of the base of the first container (6), and c) a second container (8), intended to contain a second component (B), and provided with a neck (50), suitable for being engaged in said chimney central (32), this neck being equipped with a closure cap (46) for storage, the assembly being such that when the cap is removed from the second container, the neck (50) of the latter can, during its insertion in the central chimney (32), expelling the shutter (36) and allowing the mixing of com layers (A, B, C), characterized in that the second container (8) comprises an element defining a third container (12) for containing, separately from the second component (B), a third component (C), said third container having a free edge (12a) defining an opening which, during storage, is closed by said cap. 2. - Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that the third container (12) is carried by a plurality of radial fins (58) arranged regularly, in the vicinity of said opening (12a) between the outer surface of the third container ( 12) and an inner surface of a mounting member (60)   disposed inside said neck (50).   3. - Packaging according to claim 2, characterized in that the element of   mounting (60) is mounted by snap inside said neck (50).   4. - Packaging according to any one of claims 1 to 3,   characterized in that the third container (12) is arranged so   concentric inside the neck (50).   5. - Packaging according to claim 4, characterized in that the plug (46) comprises a central member (66) projecting, and whose outer diameter is such that, in the closed position of the plug, said central member (66) closes   sealingly said opening (12a).   6. - Packaging according to any one of claims 1 to 5,   characterized in that the first container (6) is provided at its top with a nozzle   dispenser (24), closed by a breakable tip (26).   7. - Packaging according to any one of claims 1 to 6,   characterized in that coupling means (30) are provided between the central chimney (32) and the neck (50) of the second container (8), so as to allow, in response to a rotation of the second container relative to the first , an axial movement of the second container (8) relative to the first (6) and the expulsion of the shutter (36).   8. - Packaging according to claim 7, characterized in that the coupling means (30) comprise an internal thread (41) carried by an inner surface of the central chimney (34), and able to cooperate with a thread   outer (16) carried by the neck (50) of the second container (8).   9. - Packaging according to any one of the preceding claims,   characterized in that the intermediate piece (30) is screwed onto a shaped neck (14).   in the vicinity of the open base of the first container (6).   10. - Packaging according to any one of the preceding claims,   characterized in that the first container (6) is made of a material compressible thermoplastic.   11. - Packaging according to any one of the preceding claims,   characterized in that the second container (8) is made of a material rigid thermoplastic or glass.   12. - Packaging according to any one of the preceding claims,   characterized in that it contains a hair dye, the first container (6) containing an oxidant (A), the second container (8) containing a dye (B) and the   third container (12) containing a perfume (C).
