Abstract

A device for fixing a frame molding on metal trays (1), the latter respectively comprising a folded edge (2) extended by a return wing (3) substantially parallel to the tray (1), comprises a part of fastener (10) having two arms (11) adapted to clamp the adjacent folded edges (2) of two metal plates (1). This device comprises a clamping piece (20) adapted to be fixed on the attachment piece (10), the return wings (3) of the two metal plates (1) being clamped between the clamping piece (20) and the arm (11) of the attachment part (10). Use in particular for advertising display panels.

DEVICE FOR FIXING A FRAME MOLD

  ON TRAYS, SUCH AS PANELS

DISPLAY

  The present invention relates to a device for fixing a frame molding to trays

  of metal, in particular display panels.

  The metal trays are made up of large folded sheet metal surfaces, with folded edges extended respectively by return wings

  substantially parallel to the metal plates.

  Different metal trays are arranged edge to edge, so as to constitute the complete panel desired for the display, such as a display

advertising.

  The periphery of this display panel receives a frame molding intended to give the panel a

finish and decoration.

  Fixing devices generally allow both to secure the metal plates two by two and to fix the frame molding. Fixing devices known in the art

  are illustrated in FIGS. 5 to 8.

  They include a fixing part 30 having two arms 31 adapted to pinch the folded edges

  adjacent 2 of the metal trays 1.

  This fixing piece comprises a tab 33 having a notch 34 adapted for fixing the

frame molding 4.

  Each arm 31 has tapped holes 32 adapted for the passage of fixing screws 35

  perpendicular to the folded edges.

  The fixing piece is held on the metal plates by pinching the folded edges by means of two screws mounted in opposition. However, this arrangement does not promote the resistance of the fastener spanning the folded edges, this fastener tending to

deform by spacing.

  In addition, as illustrated in Figure 8, access to the clamping screws is made difficult by the presence

  return wings 3 of the metal plates 1.

  In addition, the mounting of the fixing part can only be done when the frame molding is

completely disassembled.

  The object of the present invention is to solve the aforementioned drawbacks and proposes a device for fixing metal plates which is simpler to assemble and

providing reinforced fixation.

  The device for fixing metal trays targeted by the invention is provided for trays respectively comprising a folded edge extended by a return wing substantially parallel to the tray. The fastening device comprises a fastening part having two arms adapted to pinch the edges

  folded down adjacent to two metal trays.

  According to the invention, this fixing device comprises a clamping part adapted to be fixed on the attachment part, the return wings of the two metal plates being pinched between the part

  clamp and arms of the fastener.

  The fixing thanks to the clamping part parallel to the return wings of the metal plates avoids the deformation of the fixing part

  spanning the folded edges of adjacent trays.

  Preferably, at least one arm of the attachment piece has a hollow blocking portion, respectively projecting, relative to a plane of said arms parallel to said return wings of the metal plates, said clamping piece comprising locking portions complementary projecting, respectively hollow, relative to a plane defined by a surface of said clamping part adapted to be in contact with the return wings, said complementary blocking portions cooperating with said blocking portions of the attachment part for

warp the wings back.

  The locking portions make it possible to deform the return wings of the metal plates in order to form anchor points in the return wings and

  thus perfect the maintenance of the fixation.

  These blocking portions prevent slipping

  of the assembly carried out by the fixing device.

  According to another preferred version of the invention, the attachment piece comprises, in a spacer connecting said arms, a tapped opening adapted to the passage of a fixing screw, further screwed in a

  threaded opening of the clamping piece.

  The mounting and immobilization of the attachment piece are facilitated by tightening the fixing screw in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the

metal trays.

  The attachment is therefore more accessible and is not hampered by the return wings

  folded edges of the metal trays.

  The fixing device can also be assembled or disassembled without removing the frame molding. Other features and advantages of

  Referring firstly to FIG. 1, a fixing device according to the invention makes it possible to secure metal plates 1, intended

  including forming an advertising display panel.

  As best seen in section in Figure 7, these metal plates have on their longitudinal sides, in a vertical direction when the plates are mounted, folded edges 2 extended by a return wing 3 substantially parallel to the metal plate. These folded edges 2 comprise on one side of the plate a projecting rib 2a intended to cooperate with a rib 2a hollow with a folded edge of the adjacent plate, allowing during assembly, to block the relative movement of the metal plates in a horizontal direction , perpendicular to the vertical plane

formed by the plates.

  These metal plates 1 are mounted on feet 5 intended to fix the display panel on the ground. A frame molding 4 is fixed around the display panels to perfect the finishes. As illustrated in Figures 2 and 3, the fixing device comprises a fastening piece 10 having two arms 11 adapted to pinch the adjacent folded edges 2

of two metal trays 1.

  This device comprises a clamping piece 20 adapted to be fixed on the attachment piece 10, the return wings 3 of the two metal plates being pinched between the clamping piece 20 and the arms 11 of

the attachment piece 10.

  Each arm 11 of the attachment part comprises a blocking portion 10 recessed relative to the plane of the arms 11 parallel to the return wings 3 of the metal plates 1, the clamping part 20 comprising complementary blocking portions 23 projecting from relative to a plane defined by the surface of the clamping piece 20 adapted to be in contact with the wings of

  These complementary blocking portions 23 cooperate with the blocking portions 13 to deform the return wings 3, forming a directed bulge

to the metal trays 1.

  This deformation of the return wings 3 prevents the relative sliding of the metal plates 1 in

their vertical plane.

  0 The attachment piece 10 comprises locking portions 13, in the form of an inclined pan, arranged

  respectively at the free end llb of the arms 11.

  These inclined faces 13 are thus formed in a triangular corner defined by the end of the arms 11 and the longitudinal outer edge of each arm.

  Similarly, the complementary blocking portions 23 are arranged at one end 21b of the clamping piece 20 and also have the shape of an inclined pan 23 formed at the two opposite corners of the end 21b of the clamping piece 20. This piece of clamping 20 thus consists of a rectangular flat piece 21, the two corners 23 of the end 21b of the clamping piece 20 forming two planes inclined relative to the plane of the clamping piece 21. The two corners 23 form claws who

deform the return wings 3.

  The attachment piece 10 comprises, in a spacer 18 connecting the arms 11, a tapped opening 12 suitable for the passage of a fixing screw 15, further screwed into a tapped opening 22 of the

clamp 20.

  The spacer 18 thus forms with the two arms 11 a cavity 14 which spans the folded edges 2

metal trays 1.

  The fixing screw 15 is generally maneuvered by the front face of the panels which is of a

greater accessibility.

  The fixing piece 10 further comprises a hooking lug 16 for fixing a framing molding 4 of the metal plates to this piece

mounting 10.

  This fixing lug 16 extends from the spacer 18 in an opposite direction from the arms 11 and has an opening 17 adapted to the passage of the fixing means, such as a screw for example, which

cooperates with the molding 4.

  The fixing device thus designed can be mounted or dismounted without removing the frame molding 4. Preferably, the cavity 14 defined by the facing faces lla of the arms 11 of the fixing piece and the spacer 18 has a width , in a direction perpendicular to the facing faces 11a, higher in a portion adjacent to the free end 11b of the arms

  than in a portion adjacent to the spacer 18.

  In this example, the two facing faces 11a have sections cut at their free end 11b, so that the cavity 14 has a shape, in a vertical plane, of

  truncated cone flared towards the outside of the cavity 14.

  This particular shape of the cavity 14 makes it easier to place the fixing piece 10 on the folded edges 2 of the metal plates 1, and the passage of the arms 11 on the nested ribs 2a.

  In addition, the same model of fixing device can be adapted to metal trays with different thicknesses of folded edge 2, for example between 30 and 35 mm, depending on

  the depth of the ribs 2a of the folded edges 2.

  The fastening and clamping pieces 20 can be obtained by molding or even by extrusion, the solid parts of the arms 11 or of the hooking lug 16 then comprising, in known manner, cavities intended to reduce the excess thicknesses of the pieces

  promote uniform cooling after molding.

  Of course, many modifications can be made to the example described above without

depart from the scope of the invention.

  Thus, the inclined planes 13 of the arms 11 of the attachment piece 10 and the inclined planes 23 of the clamping piece 20 can be reversed and inclined no longer towards the metal plates but towards the rear of the panel, so that the return wings 3 are deformed and form a bump towards the outside of the

folded edges 2.

  In addition, these blocking portions 13, 23 may be produced elsewhere than at the ends of the arms 11 and of the clamping piece 20 and form complementary projections and recesses making it possible to block any relative movement of the plates

  metallic in their vertical plane.

Claims (8)

  1. Device for fixing a frame molding to metal trays (1), in particular display panels, the trays (1) respectively comprising a folded edge (2) extended by a substantially parallel return wing (3) to said plate (1), said fixing device comprising a fastening piece (10) having two arms (11) adapted to pinch the adjacent folded edges (2) of two metal plates (1), characterized in that it comprises a clamping piece (20) adapted to be fixed on said attachment piece (10), the return wings (3) of said two metal plates (1) being pinched between said clamping piece (20) and the arms (11 ) of said part attachment (10).   2. Fastening device according to claim 1, characterized in that at least one arm (11) of the attachment piece (10) has a blocking portion (13) hollow, projecting respectively, relative to a plane of said arms (11) parallel to said return wings (3) of the metal plates (1), said clamping piece (20) comprising complementary locking portions (23) projecting, respectively in hollow, relative to a plane defined by a surface of said clamping piece (20) adapted to be in contact with the return wings (3), said complementary locking portions (23) cooperating with said locking portions (13) of the attachment piece ( 10) for deform the return wings (3).   3. Fastening device according to claim 2, characterized in that the attachment piece (10) comprises two locking portions (13) disposed respectively at the end of said arms (11), said complementary locking portions (23 ) being arranged at one end (21b) of the piece of tightening (20).   4. Fastening device according to claim 3, characterized in that said blocking portions (13) and said blocking portions   complementary (23) have an inclined pan shape.   5. Fastening device according to one of the   claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the part   attachment (10) comprises, in a spacer (18) connecting said arms (11), an opening (12) adapted to the passage of a fixing screw (15) further screwed in   a threaded opening (22) of the clamping piece (20).   6. Fastening device according to one of the   Claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the workpiece   fixing further comprises a hooking lug (16) for fixing a frame molding (4) of said metal panels (1) to said fixing piece (10). 7. Fastening device according to one of the   Claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the cavity   (14) defined by the facing faces (11a) of said arms (11) of the fixing piece (10) and a spacer (18) connecting said arms (11), at a greater width, in a direction perpendicular to said faces opposite (11a), in a portion adjacent to the free end (11b) of the arms (11) than in an adjacent portion at the spacer (18).   8. Fastening device according to one of the   Claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the workpiece   clamping (20) consists of a rectangular flat piece (21), two corners (23) of said clamping piece (21) forming two planes inclined relative to the   plane of said clamping piece (21).
