Abstract

A clip (1), especially for a disposable cigarette lighter, is made from a strip of sheet metal or plastic material, folded across the middle to make two elongated tongues. The inner tongue slides inside a packet of cigarettes or can be attached to a key ring, while the outer one (3) is shaped to form two curved side lugs (2) to retain the lighter (5). The clip is made in one piece from iron, sheet metal, aluminium plastic, and can be used to carry promotional material especially for a brand of cigarettes.

Description

 The present invention relates to a removable mini clamp for lighter preferably of disposable type.

 It is intended to secure a lighter either to any packet of cigarettes, or to any keychain, or to the keychain, supplied as an option.

 The various elements designated above may be used independently.

 The subject of the invention relates generally to the industrial and commercial sectors of the manufacture and distribution of articles for smokers and advertising objects.

 The device which has just been described has for main objective to allow an assembly and an extraction of lighter from its support by a fast and simple manipulation.

 In order to keep the lighter wedged on the device, the user will only have to present the lighter on the support tab and exert a light pressure on the lighter with the thumb. The lighter will then be kept pressed inside the two bent wings provided for this purpose.

 To extract the lighter from its housing, the user will only have to push it out of the support by sliding it with a light finger pressure towards the end of the device.

 The device which will be described, of a reduced bulk, consists of two tabs of lateral plane and of lamellar shape.

 The whole forms a single piece whose tabs are inseparable and bent in a U.

 The so-called support tongue preferably comprises laterally on its central part, two fixed bent wings, adjusted according to the external dimensions of the lighter intended to be inserted therein. Although the device can receive only one very distinct lighter model, several models of the device can be produced to adapt each of them to a very distinct model and brand of lighter.

 The so-called fixing tab will be used to secure the device either to any packet of cigarettes or to a key holder.

 The user can use the device fitted on a pack of cigarettes without having to extract the lighter from its support. The use will be identical to that of an office or apartment lighter.

 The accompanying drawings are substantially made to scale 1 and given by way of illustration and only by way of nonlimiting example of embodiments of the subject of the invention.

 Figure 1 is a front view of the support tab having two fixed bent wings.

 Figure 2 is a front view of the fixing tab, the tapered end of which has a hole.

 FIG. 5 represents the insertion manipulation of the lighter on the device.

 The elements designated by reference numerals in the accompanying drawings correspond to the parts designated below.

 The device 1, object of the invention consists of a single piece in the form of a rectangular bent U-shaped plate and comprising two non-dissociable tabs FIG. 1- 2-3 - 4.

 The so-called support tab 3 Fig. 1 substantially matches the shape and external dimensions of a lighter 5, preferably of the disposable type, of elongated shape, and of oval section.

 The dimensions of the support tab 3 must be adjusted with great precision in order to ensure perfect retention of the lighter 5 on the device 1.

 The fixing tab 4 will be dimensioned to be able to penetrate either one of the reduced interstices 9, or the facial or lateral wall of a packet of cigarettes 6 - 6A.

 To secure the device 1 to any packet of cigarettes 6, 6A, the smoker will only have to insert the fixing tab 4 into the packet 6 6A and push it in fully to bring it into abutment at the bending of the 2 tabs 3 and 4 Fig. 11.

The positioning of the lighter 5 on the support 3 will be carried out by introducing the lighter 5 inside one of the two bent wings 2 and by exerting a light pressure with the thumb on the lighter at the level of the arrow

 The lighter 5 will then be wedged against the support 3.

 The lighter 5 is removed from its support 3 very simply by pushing the lighter 5 up and down out of the support 3 - Fig. 10.

 The device which is the subject of the invention can be used to light a cigarette without removing the lighter from its support 3.

 The smoker will have to push the lighter 5 slightly upwards and act on the ignition wheel.

 By virtue of its position far from the pack of cigarettes 6, the flame will in no case be able to burn the pack of cigarettes 6.

 The device described object of the invention has been designed to be used on all types of cigarette packs.

 Rigid, flexible packs of standard format 20 cigarettes, or packs of 10 very popular with young people, packs of 25 or 30 cigarettes or even 6-drawer slide cases. 9, 10, 11 and 12.

 One of the essential aims of the invention is to provide a simple, attractive, functional article, the space requirement of which is reduced to a minimum, giving it numerous possibilities of use.

 The device 1, object of the invention lends itself particularly well by its originality to the production of advertising articles for a brand of cigarettes for example.

 Tabs 3 and 4 may be coated with advertising by screen printing, time delay, or any other system.

 The optional keyring can also be used as an advertising medium on its 2 sides 10.

 The device 1 can be applied to other embodiments which differ from that indicated by way of example.

 It can be designed in all shapes and sizes and with the most appropriate materials including iron, sheet metal, aluminum, plastic, ABS.

 The device 1 can be produced in several models, each of them will be adapted to a single lighter model.
