Abstract

The garment comprises lined front panels, an unlined back panel, and sleeves with straight seams at the front and raglan at the back, all made from 100 per cent cotton treated with 'Proban' (RTM) or 'Nomex' (RTM). It also has a round collar (F) which is open at the front, and a one-piece panel (E) covering the shoulders and the top of the front and back. The garment also has breast and side pockets and is made long enough to cover the trouser pockets of the wearer, avoiding any projections which might tend to halt the flow of molten metal droplets. Description

 The present invention is a flexible jacket for protection against splashes of molten metal droplets, particles of metal heated to red by abrasion, and the radiation of the electric arc during electric arc welding actions, cutting of metals by thermal fusion, grinding and cutting.

 By design, the jacket may not, under any circumstances, be used in protective clothing against fire, nor in protective clothing against acids or corrosive products.

 The protective clothing used by welders is made of leather and is heavy, with no pockets, which forces users to wear another fabric work jacket underneath. This accumulation of clothes makes gestures awkward, and the execution of their work more painful. One of the dominant characteristic according to the invention, is to remedy these major drawbacks.
