Abstract

The snowshoe has boot bindings that slide longitudinally on a pivoting plate (9). The back clamp (16) is locked in position by a locking piece that moves between locked and free positions. It is joined to a vertical threaded rod that is moved by a lever (22). The locking piece has teeth on top that cooperate with corresponding teeth on the lower surface of the plate. The lever moves, through a quarter turn, on planes of stop and support, in the binding, that are separated by ramps.

Description

IMPROVEMENT FOR SNOW RAOIJEUE
The present invention relates to a snowshoe and more particularly to the device for adjusting the longitudinal position of its retaining means for the boot.

 Snowshoes have been known for many years because they have been used for centuries by the Scandinavian populations to travel on snow. Until today snowshoes were used for utility or military purposes, to allow populations and alpine troops to move on snow for their movements necessary for daily life.

Currently, snowshoes are rather used by sportsmen who go for hikes and walks, or even competitions. But athletes, although practicing for their pleasure, are more and more demanding for the equipment they use.

 The present invention provides an improvement for the adjustment device making it possible to adapt the shoe retaining attachment to the length of the latter.

 Thus, according to the invention, the snowshoe comprising at least one means of retaining the boot slidably mounted on a pivoting plate and locking means allowing the user to be able to lock said retaining means in a longitudinal position determined by relative to said plate, said locking means being constituted by a movable lock cntre a locking position and an unlocking position, linked to a threaded rod controlled by an operating lever, is characterized in that means are provided allowing , by simple quarter turn of the threaded rod to place the lock from its locked position to its unlocked position and vice versa.

 According to an additional characteristic, the means allow, by a simple quarter turn of the threaded rod, to place the lock from its simple locking position towards its unlocking position and vice versa, consist of an abutment plane and a support plane separated by a ramp system.

 Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge from the description which follows with reference to the appended drawings which are given only by way of nonlimiting examples.

 Figures 1 to 2 are respectively top and side views of a snowshoe according to the invention.

 Figures 3 and 4 are views in longitudinal section of the adjusting device respectively in its locked position (Figure 3) and in its unlocked position (Figure 4).

 Figure 5 is an exploded view showing the adjusting device.

 Figures 6 and 7 are perspective views of the device respectively in its locked position (Figure 6) and in its unlocked position (Figure 7).

 The racket designated under the general reference (1) is in the form of an openwork plate of general plane of symmetry (P) fixed under the shoe and which consists of a main frame (2) and a sieve ( 4), comprising a set of walls supporting the binding (5) intended to retain the shoe (6) of the user.

 Said sieve (4) with its set of internal walls forms a general lower surface for bearing on the snow allowing the user not to sink too far into the snow, thanks to the relatively large bearing surface. Note that the binding (5) for retaining the shoe (6) is, according to the illustration given by way of example, articulated with respect to the screen (4) of the racket itself, along a transverse axis (XX ') .

 Said binding bearing the general reference (5) advantageously consists of an articulated plate (9) comprising retaining means for the boot, namely front means (10) and rear means (11). Thus, the front end (12) of the shoe is, for example, retained by a front stirrup (13), while its rear end (14) is, thanks to a rear retaining part (15).

 According to the illustrated embodiment, the rear retaining part (14) is constituted by an interlocking wall (150) forming a cavity (16) open towards the front intended to retain the heel (14) of the shoe. Furthermore, it is, for example, provided a retaining strap (17).

 According to one characteristic, the rear retaining part (15) is slidably mounted on the plate (9) so that it can be moved forwards (AV) and backwards (AR) so that it can be moved longitudinally and be positioned in a determined longitudinal position and adapted to the length of the shoe.

 In addition, locking means are provided for locking said rear retaining part (15) in the chosen longitudinal position. Said locking means consist of a movable locking piece or latch (18) cooperating with the plate. To this end, the lock comprises a succession of teeth (20a, 20b) intended to cooperate with a succession of corresponding teeth (19a, 19b) produced on the plate (9). Said lock is movable between a locking position (P1) and a release position (P2).

 Note that the lock is controlled by a vertical screw (21) comprising at its upper end an operating lever (22). The latter being pivotable on the end of said screw to take two positions, namely, a locking position (V1) and an unlocking position (V2).

 According to the invention, the adjustment device comprises means allowing by simple quarter turn of the threaded rod (21) to place the lock from its locked position to its unlocked position and vice versa.

 These means consist of a first plane or support plane (23) and a second plane or abutment plane (24) disposed lower than the first plane and spaced from the latter by a height (H1) substantially greater than the displacement. vertical (H) necessary for the lock to move from one position to another. In addition and according to another characteristic of the invention, there is provided a ramp system (25a, 25b) allowing the automatic passage of the lever from its stop position on the stop plane (24) to its support position on the support plane (23).

 Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiments described and shown by way of examples, but it also includes all the technical equivalents as well as their combinations.

Snowshoe (1) comprising at least one shoe retaining means (11, 15) slidably mounted on a pivoting plate (9) and locking means allowing the user to be able to lock said retaining means in a longitudinal position determined with respect to said plate, said locking means being constituted by a lock (18) movable between a locking position (P1) and an unlocking position (P2), linked to a threaded rod (21) controlled by an operating lever, characterized in that means are provided allowing, by a simple quarter turn of the threaded rod (28), to place the lock from its locked position to its unlocked position and vice versa.  2. Snowshoe (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that the means allowing, by a simple quarter turn of the threaded rod (28), to place the lock from its simple locking position to its unlocking position and conversely, are constituted by an abutment plane (24) and a support plane (23) separated by a ramp system (25a, 25b).
