Abstract

The personal paging system has a unit carried by an individual, which includes an antenna (3) that relays personal paging signals to a receiver IC circuit (4) and normal radio signals to a separate IC (5). A memory (6) is used to store receiver frequency data for both the pager and radio functions. All circuits are coupled to a central processor stage (1) and information is shown on a display (2). A power switch (SW3) activates the system. Other switches (SW1,SW2) are used for operation in the radio mode. The output is via a small loudspeaker (P), and a buzzer (8) is included.
