Abstract

The assembly is intended for electronic devices which are less than or equal to 1.2mm in thickness and is able to generate acoustic signals in the frequency range compatible with their transport over a telephone network. It comprises a vibrating plate which is made of a piezoelectric material and is mounted directly and solidly on a substrate. The plate may be positioned parallel to the longest axis of the support in order to be subject to the minimum mechanical constraint. The acoustic device is coated with a thin layer of protective material to seal it completely and protect it against liquids and any oxidising substances. In an alternative arrangement, several plates may be used with each dedicated to a particular frequency range.
