Abstract

The illuminated base is formed as a box (1) with translucent windows (2) at the top. The box houses a number of light-emitting diodes (LED) (3), an electronic circuit (4), the control switch (5), batteries (7) and recharging connectors (6). All the components are mounted on a printed circuit board (8). The base is placed beneath the vessel (12). The switch is formed so that the moving part makes contact with the appropriate part of the printed circuit board when the weight of the vessel presses it down, and springs up when the vessel is removed, cutting the supply to the LEDs.

Description

 The present invention relates to a device for making transparent or translucent containers light.

The idea of such a device was already described in 1966, but this
invention raises technical problems, making it difficult to use in practice.

The most glaring technical problem is the production of heat
due to the use of an incandescent lamp. This makes the utility
sation of the object impossible in the case of a glass of cold drink.

Another technical problem arises. When the user enters
the object, it stops working due to the location and
switch type.

The devices according to the invention make it possible to remedy the pro
technical issues cited above.

 The heat is controlled by the use of LEDs (light emitting diode) which, when supplied with electricity correctly, do not deliver any heat.

 The electrical contact (ignition / extinction) is ensured by a circuit breaker making it possible to take the container in the hands, without it going out. Extinction occurs when the container is turned over for storage.

In addition, the invention has the advantage of limiting the risks of being
overturned in dark or poorly lit areas thanks to its visuality
increased during use.

The present invention consists of the following elements
- a light source composed by one or more LEDs,
arranged in the extension of the walls, in order to obtain a light effect
which can be accentuated by drawings or inscriptions on the walls of the container.

 - a printed circuit on which the LEDs are installed, (with their series resistors), the circuit breaker, the two pads used for recharging the accumulators, and possibly electronic components allowing the LEDs to flash or give any other light effect .

 - an energy source consisting of one or more electric battery (ies) or accumulators of an appropriate format which will be (can) be dismantled or not.

All these elements will be housed in a housing made of
envelope, or by molding in a resin, or by injection in a plastic material. This box will be fixed under the container by gluing (in the case of the use of permanent accumulator (s)), or by any removable fixing means, in order to allow the replacement of the batteries.

Whatever the embodiment and fixing, the housing will have the particularity of having one or more transparent or translucent window (s). It (s) will (will) be (s) in the base material or will (will) be added, allowing the light rays
from the LEDs, to be visible on the side of the housing for enhanced visual appeal.

 The circuit breaker is glued to two copper tracks on the printed circuit. I1 contains an active part composed of one or more metallic piece (s) which establish the electrical contact between the two copper tracks of the printed circuit. This active part moves by natural gravity depending on the position of the container.

With reference to this drawing, the device comprises a housing (1), fixed under the container (12) by gluing, or by any means
removable.

The housing (1) has one or more window (s) (2), transparent (s) or translucent (s) opposite with the LEDs (3) allowing the light rays to pass through the window (s) ) (2), in order to be
visible on the side (s) of the housing (1).

The LED (s) are directed towards the wall (11) of the container (12),
in order to obtain an accentuated visual effect.

 The active part (9) of the circuit breaker (5) moves by natural gravity, it consists of one or more pieces (x) of metal ensuring electrical contact between the two tracks (10) of the printed circuit (8 ) when the container (12) is upright; and switches off the ignition when the container (12) is upside down.

 The recharging pads (6), intended for recharging the accumulators (7), are made of metal in order to transmit electricity to the accumulators (7).

The electronic components (4) include:
- the series resistor (s) necessary for operation
correct LED (3).

 - an electronic circuit (optional), to flash or give any other light effect to the LEDs (3).

 The device according to the invention can equip drinking places, restaurants, as well as family homes.

Claims (7)

 1) Device for making transparent or translucent containers bright, characterized in that it consists of a housing (1), having one or more window (s) (2) and containing: one or  several LEDs (3), electronic components (4), the circuit breaker (5), the recharging pads (6), the accumulators (7) and that all the electrical elements (3 to 7) are electrically connected to the printed circuit (8).  2) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the box  tier (1) is located under the container (12), and can be fixed or removable.  3) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the window (s) (2) of the housing (1) are transparent (s) or translucent (s) and that it (s) can (can) be produced ( s) in the base material or  be reported.  4) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the or the  LEDs (3) are directed towards the wall (11) of the container (12) and that it (s)  is (are) facing the window (s) (2).  5) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the circuit breaker (5) contains the active part (9) ensuring contact  electric with the copper tracks (10) when the container (12) is  the place and cutting the ignition when the container (12) is upside down  (by natural gravity).  6) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the part  active (9) of the circuit breaker (5) consists of one or more  metallic part (s).  7) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the studs  recharging (6) transmit electricity from a charger to the  accumulators (7), and that they are flush with the underside of the housing (1).
