Abstract

The furniture sections have grooves formed in them (4) with tongues (3) and cut outs (6) on the surface of the MDF and use the cardboard surface layer as a hinge. The cardboard surface layer forms a connection support for the furniture. One of the connecting tongues (3) is used as a carrying handle for the folded section under a plastics film. The handle is removed during assembly. The same folds in the cardboard face allow folding for assembly or transport at 90 or 180 degrees respectively. The material can include a single layer of corrugated cardboard with a thickness of 1mm and a thin layer of MDF with a thickness of between 2 and 5mm.
