Abstract

The controller is attached to the valve head of a pressure regulator in an existing installation. The controller is attached to the valve head by a rod, which connects it to a piston. The space between the piston and the valve head is connected by a flexible pipe to the inlet side of the regulator. A spring behind the piston tends to close the regulator valve against the incoming flow. The piston can be pushed fully inward so the flow is completely blocked by operating an external rod that slides in a hole in the top of the spring. If the rod is placed in an intermediate position the opening of the regulator valve can be limited to limit flow.
