Abstract

The illuminating assembly includes a game ball having a shell provided integrally with one or more recesses (11) which are insulated from a hollow interior of the ball and are provided in an inner wall with a retaining groove. An illuminating device is engageable with each recess. The illuminating device includes a luminous body (22) fastened with a circuit board (21). An IC control circuit (23) is mounted on the circuit board for controlling the luminous body. A switch controls activation of the IC control circuit. A battery (25) is provided to power the illuminating device. A shield (33) of a transparent or translucent material is engageable with each recess. The shield includes a head, and a body provided with a projection engageable securely with the retaining groove of the recesses in a waterproof manner. The body of the shield may be tubular in shape and can be received in the recesses for urging and locating the circuit board of the illuminating device.

  The present invention relates, in general, to a game ball and it relates, more particularly, to a device

  As can be seen in Figures 1 to 3, a game ball 10 has an envelope in which are formed one or more cavities 11 which are isolated from the hollow interior of the game ball 10 and are provided respectively in the wall interior of this

  The cavities 11 internally comprise a device

  area 21, a light body 22, such as a LED light-emitting diode or a light bulb attached to the circuit board 21, an IC 23 control circuit mounted on the circuit board 21 for controlling the lighting of the light body 22, an IC control switch 24 mounted on the circuit board 21 for controlling activation of the IC control circuit 23, and a battery 25 fixed to the underside of the circuit board 21. A transparent or translucent screen 30 is fixed to the open end of the cavity 11. The screen 20 is formed of an elastic material and is composed of a head 33 of texture similar to that of the envelope of the game ball , a tubular body 32 and a circular projection 31 located between the body 32 and the head 33 and which can be engaged in the circular groove of the cavity 11

  to securely hold the screen 30 in place in the cavity 11.

  As can be seen in FIG. 3, the screen 30 is further composed

  of a curved portion 35 having a focusing effect on the light.

  Firstly, the assembled lighting device 20 is introduced into the cavity 11 of the balloon 10 before fixing the screen 30 to the open end of the cavity 11. Next, the balloon 10 is inflated so that the cavity 11 securely holds the screen 30 in a waterproof manner. Before replacing the battery 25 or the lighting device 20, deflate the balloon 10 so that it can be easily removed

the screen 30 of the cavity 11.

  The lighting device 20 of the present invention is well protected from moisture and is resistant to impacts. According to the results of a test, the lighting device 20 of the present invention is

  able to withstand an impact exerted on this ball in a conti-

  naked for a period of 30 hours.

  It is understood that the embodiment described above has been given by way of illustration and not limitation and that variants or modifications can be made without departing from the scope of

the present invention.

Claims (5)

  1. Set of game ball and interior lighting   characterized in that it comprises: a game ball (10) comprising an envelope in which   one or more cavities (11) are formed which are isolated from the interior   hollow laugher of said balloon and are respectively provided, in the wall of the latter, with a retaining groove (12);   lighting devices whose number corresponds to the   your cavities and which can be engaged in said cavities, said lighting devices each comprising a circuit board (21), a light body (22) fixed to said circuit board, an IC control circuit (21) mounted on said circuit board for controlling the lighting of said luminous body, an IC control switch (24), and a battery (25) for supplying said lighting device with electrical energy; and screens (30) of a transparent or translucent material whose number corresponds to that of the cavities and which can be engaged in said cavities, said screens each comprising a head (33) and   a body (33) provided with a retaining projection (31) which can be engaged   firmly fixed in said retaining groove of said cavities, of a waterproof way.   2. Assembly according to claim 1, characterized in that said body of said screen has a tubular shape and is housed in said cavity to push and position said circuit board of said lighting device.   3. An assembly according to claim 1, characterized in that said screen is made of elastomer and said head of said screen has a texture similar to that of the outer surface of said envelope of said balloon. 4. Assembly according to claim 1, characterized in that   said screen is provided with a curved portion (35) having a focusing effect reading on the light.   5. Assembly according to claim 1, characterized in that   said luminous body, said control circuit IC and said interrup-   IC control unit are mounted on the upper face of said circuit board of said lighting device, and said battery is fixed on the underside of said circuit board of said lighting device.
