Abstract

The mono ski is composed of two short mini skis (S) of variable width, the active one of which is placed at the front and the other, passive one, at the rear. Each mini ski has a boot fixing (D). The mini skis are connected by a torsion bar (A) of variable composition, either graphite, composite or steel, placed in the centre of their longitudinal direction. The bar generates an easy torsional bending of the front active ski relative to the rear. This bending can be reduced by the intentional transfer of the skier's weight onto the rear mini ski. The torsion bar can be replaced in a different version by two or more parallel bars (B) or by elastomer blocks.
