Abstract

The skin remover consists of a rod (1) with an endless screw having rounded threads which is introduced between the flesh and skin of the animal's carcass, and a cylindrical housing (2) surrounded by rollers (3) with studs (4) which are spring-loaded axially and prevented from moving laterally. During use, the cylindrical housing and rollers rotate in the same direction as the threaded rod but at a higher speed, with the studs on the rollers engaging through the skin with the threads on the rod, pulling the skin from the flesh without damaging it.
