Abstract

The current source includes two distinct parts, an energy emitter (8) which comprises a primary coil (11) around a laminated soft-iron core (11), and a receiver (9) which comprises the secondary coil (14) around its core (13). A constant current regulator (15) charges the buffer batteries (16) which supplies a current through a cable (17) to equipment on the slider. Typically, the half-transformers are 90 mm cubes, separated by 2-30 mm and the output is 24V at 2 Ampere-hours.
