Abstract

The handle, either for a table tennis bat or a tennis racquet, is attached to the striking surface by a pivot (3) which allows a relative movement between the two. The movement is limited by a projection (6) on the striking surface which engages with a propulsion drive (5) inside the handle. The pivot can be equipped with a lock which regulates the force needed for the striking surface to move relative to the handle. The pivot can be used to change the bat or racquet striking surface while keeping the same handle, and the amount of slip between the two can be improved by treatment of the wood or coating its surface.
