Description
The present invention relates to a device for stabilizing the string for a tennis or ball racket made of thermoplastic or thermosetting material comprising two fluted elements which are coupled one inside the other and which sandwich the strings of the sieve. This device is used to stabilize the strings of the sieve following a ball impact especially when the player hits it with the inclined racket to lift the ball. These types of strikes spread or bring the strings together. As a result, the screen loses its performance, and the wear of the strings accelerates.
It is well known that an elastomer or thermoplastic element placed on the strings of a sieve attenuates the vibrations of the latter. Some of them also have a stabilizing function for the rope. However, these devices offer imperfections. Patent 2,585,256 dated 7/29/85 possesses the requisite stiffness of its constitutive material, but does not provide any effective retention of the strings so much as to stabilize them.
Patent 2,613,946 of 04/16/1987 consisting of a longifile part which can be wound around the ropes to maintain them, must be made from a sufficiently flexible material to allow its contortions.
The present invention overcomes these drawbacks.
In a preferred embodiment, the device made of rigid thermoplastic material comprises two elements positioned on the string of a racket. Each element has protrusions in the shape of tenons and protrusions in the form of mortises or grooves symmetrically opposite to mate by inserting the strings in order to stabilize them. The grooves have their section in its width from the bottom which is greater than the section of the width of their outer edge. The two elements comprising grooves and tenons are in two separate parts or are connected by a strand whose small section ensuring sufficient flexibility allowing the two grooved parts to face to mate. The attachment to the racket is carried out by inserting each grooved part of the two elements into the rope, superimposing them along the axis of the strings. The human then prints a simultaneous force on each grooved part in the axis of the strings to bring the and slide the female splines into the corresponding male projections. The rope is sandwiched in the space between the projections and the prominences. The strings are thus stabilized. A trapezoidal shape of the grooves and tenons used in a variant of the invention allows the device to adapt to all types of rackets comprising different spaces between the strings. In a variant, cavities are arranged in the lateral parts of the protrusions in order to allow the passage of the cords. Another variant provides one of the two elements which has holes in which the protrusions of the other element are inserted. These protrusions then have a boss at their end to keep the coupling of the two elements forming the device firm.
At least one of these two elements is, in a new variant, made of elastomeric material absorbing the vibrations of the strings following a ball strike. Thus, the stabilizing effect of the strings is added an anti-vibration effect.
The device can be made of metal by cutting grooved bar segments, or of thermoplastic by molding using a compression or injection type press. It can also be manufactured by direct cutting using a tool of a thermoplastic board of rigid, semi-rigid or flexible material.
By way of non-limiting example, here now is a description of the invention with reference to the accompanying drawing.
Figure 1 shows a front view of the string stabilization device
Figure 2 shows a side view of this same device
Figure 3 shows a side view of a variant of the device
Figure 4 shows a perspective view of the string stabilization device attached to the string of a racket
With reference to FIG. 1, the device for stabilizing the strings for a ball racket is made of a thermoplastic material. A distinction is made between the two elements (1) and (2) comprising the tenons (3) between which the grooves (4) take place. A strand of small section (5) connects the two grooved elements. The spaces (D) between the strings ( C) are stabilized. The grooves and the tenons are here of trapezoidal shape, and can slide one inside the other along the axis of the sieve under the pressure of human force (P)
Figure 2 shows a side view where we distinguish the two elements (1) and (2), provided with their tenons (3) and grooves (4) facing each other. Again we see the element (5) connecting the 2 fluted part. In addition, there are the cavities (6) serving as passage for the ropes of the rope. Note here that the section (S1) at the bottom of the grooves (F) is greater than the section (S2) by its width at their outer edge (E). We also distinguish the cavities (6) allowing the passage of the strings (C). Depending on the dimensions of its cavities, the strings are strongly compressed by the device, or barely tightened so as not to modify the elasticity of the strings.
Figure 3 shows a variant where we distinguish the holes (7) of the element (1) or are inserted the pins (3) having the bosses (8) of the element (2). The rope (C) is sandwiched by the two main elements.
Figure 4 shows the device attached to the ropes (C). The two elements (1) and (2) both include studs (3) and grooves (4) of trapezoidal shape. The two parts of the device slide into one another, forcing in the direction of the
plane of the screen indicated by the arrows. On this view, the strings of the
rope (C) passing through the device through the cavities (6). The spaces (D) between the strings (C) are stabilized. It goes without saying that the embodiments of the invention are given by way of example and that the variations of shapes in particular the shape of the main elements
or their prominence will not depart from the scope of the invention.
The present invention is particularly intended to stabilize the strings of a
ball racket.
