Abstract

The access facilitating device includes the vehicle seat (1) which is rail (2) mounted, capable of sliding adjustment, forward or back. The rails are mounted on a turret (3), enabling the seat to be raised, lowered, or to pivot around, so that the front of the seat can be positioned over the vehicle door sill (4). The handicapped person can then place his feet on the foot rest (5) and the seat assembly can return within the vehicle. Movement of the seat may be controlled from the seat, from a control panel at the side of the vehicle, or by remote control, with or without wires. The mechanism may be operated by an electric motor.
