Abstract

The plectrum, made preferably from plastics, but otherwise from metal, has zones (1,2,3) of different thicknesses, giving them different degrees of flexibility. A plectrum with two ends can have zones of 1 mm and 0.38 mm thick, for example. A plectrum with three tips could have them made with thicknesses of 1 mm, 0.6 mm and 0.38 mm, and a wider variation in thicknesses is available with a six-pointed plectrum. The plectrum is shaped so that it can be easily rotated.
