A device (10) for studying a neural tissue sample includes a box 911) with a front surface presenting terminals (18) connected to an electric stimulator and a recording appts. A plate (15) is provided to support the sample. The plate presents a number of grooves which are filled with a physiologic conductor liquid. Individual conducting paths are provided for each groove to make the connection to the box terminals.
