Abstract

The classification and location method has a record book and self-adhesive labels marked with digits, which are placed on the cassette. The record book has a suitable pen attached by a wire which is used to record in the book details of the material on a cassette, the duration and any other notes. On the same page an identification and classification number is recorded. The number can be composed by the user as a simple sequential numbering or as a coded hierarchical numbering system representing a classification structure. The user then places self-adhesive labels, marked with individual digits, on the cassette to build up the identification number recorded in the book. If boxes are used to house groups of cassettes the boxes can also be labelled with the self-adhesive numbers.

Description

TECHNIOUE AREA.

 The present invention relates to a method and a device making it possible to quickly classify and find the titles of videotapes recorded - or blank - by anyone, in general individuals. This is not limited to video cassettes, and can also apply to floppy disks, tape recorders, storage boxes and any other object that may require a system similar to this one. We will only describe the principle for the videotape book, so as not to repeat ourselves unnecessarily.

PRIOR STATE OF THE ART.

 The research of the titles of the video cassettes is traditionally effected, by a research which consists in reading on the label of the recorded cassette, the title of what was recorded (a film, a program or other). This process is tedious, because as soon as the number of cassettes is important, they must be moved in all directions to be able to read the titles of all the cassettes (often stored at the bottom of a cupboard), in order to find the cassette sought. In addition, new recordings give rise to erasures on the labels, which is completely unsightly.

 The self-adhesive labels supplied with the cassettes at the time of purchase, just have a white area to write on it, the title of what is recorded. This system does not allow an order of the recorded tapes to be established.

PRESENTATION OF THE INVENTION.

 The invention of the notebook for video cassettes overcomes this drawback. I1 indeed establishes a correspondence between a small filing cabinet made up of files (this not being limiting, one can indeed imagine other possible supports, for example a notebook, or any other receptacle) and the video cassettes which will be stored in a box. Each file is numbered, the numbers can go on and on, depending on user demand; the first number being "zero". A free space on this sheet allows you to enter the title of the recorded programs, and some other information such as the maximum duration of the cassette, the type of program recorded, the number which indicates at which level of the cassette begins recording. the user wants to see. These criteria are not limiting, we can define others according to the needs of users. The card number refers to a sticker with the same number, written in large and twice, so that it is easily readable (this presentation of the number is not exhaustive, as we can find other "designs "which translate the same system).

 The user can change the files when they are full, if it is a filing cabinet, or change everything if it is a notebook.

 The user sticks this sticker adapted to the size of the cassette on the edge of the cassette and writes the title of what he has just recorded on the sheet of the workbook. So when he searches for a recorded program, all he has to do is read the cards from his little filing cabinet, then go and get the cassette bearing the number of the card on which the recorded program is indicated.

 To make this system more efficient, you can add a small pen, connected to the filing cabinet by a small wire. Thus, the user always has a pen at hand, which allows him to immediately note what he records.

 We can also add to this system plastic boxes (or another material, this not being limiting) - adapted to receive the cassettes in packs of ten (or more, this not being limiting) - on which there are wrote on the four sides the number corresponding to the ten cassettes he will receive; for example the number "zero" for cassettes ranging from "zero" to "nine", the number "one" for cassettes ranging from "ten" to "nineteen". This notation not being limiting, one could for example also put the notation "0-9", to indicate that this box comprises the cassettes going from the number "zero" to the number "new", or even "110", if one prefers to start the video cassette book starting with the number "one".

 Assuming that the user already has plastic boxes, we can simply provide him with stickers numbered according to the same principle, as the one mentioned above - four per number, one for each side - which he can stick on his boxes plastics.

 NB: We can also imagine that the support is a larger binder, plastic bags, in order to be able to drag the articles corresponding to the recorded programs, cut out from the newspapers.

 This system allows the user to be able to find the cassette very quickly, he will find cassette number 112 in the box with the number "eleven".

PRESENTATION OF THE DIFFERENT FIGURES.

 The drawings and this paragraph are provided for information only, and are therefore in no way limiting. They give an example of possible realization of this new process, but it is a "design" among others.

 The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention: - Figure 1 shows the appearance of the small filing cabinet.

- Figure 2 shows the appearance of the small file once opened.

- Figure 3 shows a video cassette on which a sticker has been pasted with the number corresponding to that of the card.

- Figure 4 shows the appearance of the sticker that is stuck on the video cassette.

- Figure 5 shows the appearance of the plastic box filled with its ten video cassettes.

- Figure 6 shows the look of the stickers that are glued on the plastic boxes.

COMMENT OF THE DRAWINGS.

 With reference to these drawings, the device comprises a small filing cabinet (1) with its specially adapted small pen (2), attached by a wire (3). This notebook contains removable and replaceable cards (4), on which there are different boxes in which is written roughly the number of the cassette (5), the mention "maximum duration of the cassette" (6), the mention "beginning of lettering" (7), the mention "title" (8) and the mention "program" (9).

 On the video cassette (10), apply the sticker specially adapted to the edge (11), and bearing the number corresponding to the card (12).

 The box designed to receive the cassettes (13) bears the number corresponding to the ten or so contained cassettes (14). Finally, we can stick the four stickers (15) corresponding to the tens on the boxes that the user already has.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION.

 By way of nonlimiting example, the filing cabinet can have the dimensions of a video cassette, or even be stored in one of the standard plastic boxes, case of each video cassette.

 The device is intended for all users of video cassettes, and as we said that this example was not limiting, more generally to all users of floppy disks, cassettes for tape recorders and other products that may require this kind of process.

 One can imagine that this product could be sold with the purchase of a video recorder, or separately in hypermarket, supermarket, bookstores, stationery stores or else in the appropriate shelves of stores selling video recorders ...

Claims (4)

 1) Classification method for quickly finding objects such as video cassettes or "audios", floppy disks, storage boxes, etc. characterized in that it consists in associating one or more preferably sticker numbers affixed to the object, and identical numbers appearing on a card also comprising additional information, such as "title", "duration", etc. ; the card being intended to be inserted with similar cards in a filing device.  2) Device for implementing the method according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises: - plastic sheets, sheets or sleeves, on which are inscribed at least one number, and having available locations for additional information such as movie title, movie length, etc. - stickers with numbers on them corresponding to those on the cards; - a receptacle of the notebook, file, box type, intended to receive the various sheets.  3) Device according to claim 2, characterized in that the sheets further comprise a transparent pocket designed to receive for example a photo or printed page extracted for example, from a television program review.  4) Device according to one of claims 2 and 3, characterized in that it further comprises boxes for storing for example by tens the objects to be classified, these boxes can carry a sticker corresponding to the tens digit.
