Abstract

A dermal ointment (I) for treating chronic and recurring wounds contains as active agents DNA, vitamin E, benzoic acid, liq. extract of henbane, salicylic acid, lanolin and vaseline.

DESCRIPTION
The present invention consists of a pharmaceutical preparation in the form of a dermal ointment and its method of preparation and use.

This preparation is intended for the treatment of chronic and recurrent wounds in particular leg ulcers which represent a very widespread pathology in the Guadeloupe region (Caribbean Basin)
French Antilies.

This ointment can also be used for other therapeutic indications, namely. traumatic wounds, bedsores, perforating ailments ...,
The treatment of these wounds is traditionally carried out using dermal ointments, such as debrisizer, iodosorb in sachets and deterzymen powder but which give results that are not very satisfactory both in duration and in cost of treatment, as in healing wounds.

The advantage of this simple formulation is a practical and rapid activity for the treatment of wounds by accelerating their healing and healing.

The proposed formulation makes it possible to have an accentuated and rapid action by stimulating tissue regeneration and the reconstitution of the dermal and epidermal elements of the injured muscle parts.

The duration of the treatment of these chronic and recurrent wounds is reduced by an acceleration of all the phases of healing (detersion, budding, healing). Healing "ad integrum" occurs within a fairly short time (1 to 3 weeks on average depending on the nature and size of the wounds).

This ointment has other intrinsic properties (antiseptic, bactericidal, mechanical detersion by absorption). Due to its complete activity in all the stages of wound treatment described above, it differs from other pharmaceutical preparations available on the market which must be used separately and over a long period.

The detersion phase requiring a type of suitable product such as micronized powder or spray after removal of the necrotic parts, the absorption and budding phase until complete healing requires the use of other categories of products such as colloid plaques, emulsions , antibiotic, healing or other ointments.

By using the ointment of my invention, there are savings compared to the cost of all the other products generally used for the treatment of these pathologies.

The cost of daily treatment varies between 4 francs and 6 francs in general depending on the wound.

Another advantage is the reduction in the duration of hospitalization and consequently the reduction in the cost of hospital care.

The invention will now be detailed in its composition, preparation and mode of use.

The formula of this preparation consists of a certain amount: 1 - A.D.N. ..... (between 100 mg and 500 mg) 2 - Vitamin E ... .... (between 0.5 g and 3 g) 3 - Benzoic Acid ... (between 0.10 g and 1 g) 4 - Salicylic Acid .. .... (between 0.10 g and 1 g) 5 - Soft extract of Jusquiame .. .... (between 10 g and 20 g) 6 - Lanolin .. .... (between 20 g and 60 g) 7-Vaseline .. ... (between 20 g and 60 g).

The various constituents are pharmaceutical products supplied by approved pharmaceutical laboratories.

French Pharmaceutical) 3 - Benzoic Acid: Crystallized Powder 4 - Salicylic Acid: Crystallized Powder 5 - Soft Jusquiame Extract: fluid form of Jusquiame Extract (Solanaceae) 6 - Lanolin or Lanolin: ointment-like substance 7 - Vaseline: substance creamy and pasty.

The formula has 5 constituents as well as the elements 6 and 7 constitute the excipients / supports which ensure the consistency of the ointment.

All the constituents of this preparation are available from suppliers, wholesalers of pharmacies.

The doses of the elements of the formula are as follows: 1 - DNA N ... 300 milligrams 2 - Vitamin E. . .2 grams 3 - Benzoic Acid ... 0.50 grams 4 - Salicylic Acid. . .... 0.50 grams 5 - Soft extract of Jusquiame ... 16.7 grams 6 - Lanolin. ..40 grams 7 - Vaseline. . .40 grams
The preparation of this formula consists first of finely crushing the DNA tablets. Then add the powders of Benzoic acid and Salicylic acid to obtain a homogeneous and intimate mixture.

Then add the liquid vitamin E, mixing well. Then bind the mixture with the soft extract. When the ointment has taken a soft consistency, add the excipients, starting with Lanolin and then lastly Vaseline to obtain a brown ointment ready to use after packaging in a tube.

The way of using this ointment is very simple. After washing the wound with physiological saline or hydrogen peroxide at 10 volumes, remove the necrotic parts. Cover the wound with a sufficient layer of ointment. Apply a light dressing (compress) to protect the treated area.

The dressing is made every 2 days and following the budding which progresses very quickly. The application of the formula will be stopped as soon as the wound is filled and the healing phase appears.

 It was noted some sensations of short tingling which reflect the activity of the ointment.

 It is also recommended not to use this preparation around the eyes.

However, no side effects were detected by the medical team in patients treated with a follow-up of more than 21 months.

This invention appears, by its rapidity of action, its ease of use and its low cost, capable of being carried out industrially by a pharmaceutical laboratory after clinical, toxicological tests and request for marketing authorization and with the agreement of its inventor.

Non-exhaustive list following clinical examinations of conditions which can be treated with this medication: - Varicose ulcer for 5 years in a 43-year-old woman. Result obtained after 5 weeks.

- Varicose leg ulcer in a 53-year-old woman. Result obtained after 4 weeks.

- Varicose ulcer for 6 years in a 61-year-old man. Positive result after 45 days.

- Varicose ulcer for 1 year in a 63-year-old woman. Final result after 4 weeks.

- Varicose leg ulcer for 33 years in a 63-year-old woman. Healing 3 weeks later.

- Varicose ulcer (two feet) for 3 years in a 64-year-old woman. Result obtained and positive after 4 weeks.

- Varicose ulcer in the left leg since the age of 16 in a 71-year-old man (wound existing for 55 years). Healing in 4 weeks.

- Varicose ulcer for more than 15 years in an 83-year-old woman.

Final result after 45 days.

- Poor perforation since the age of 15 in a 50 year old woman.

Result obtained after 3 weeks.

- Poor perforation for 5 years in a 51 year old woman. Result obtained after 8 weeks.

- Poor perforation for 8 months in a 59 year old woman. Result obtained after 3 weeks.

Claims (8)

 CLAIM 1) Pharmaceutical preparation in the form of a dermal ointment intended for the treatment of chronic and recurrent wounds such as "leg ulcers" characterized in that it contains as active constituents: DNA, vitamin E, l Benzoic acid, Salicylic acid, fluid extract of Jusquiame, Lanolin and Vaseline. 2) Composition according to claim 1 characterized in that it contains A.D.N (Deoxyribonucleic acid) product used in tablet form at a dose of 300 milligrams which is finely crushed. 3) Composition according to claim 1 characterized in that it contains benzoic acid and salicylic acid in the form of powders crystallized at a dose of 0.50 grams which are mixed very homogeneously with l DNA defined in claim 2. 4) Composition according to claim 1 characterized by the use of vitamin E (Tocopherol) in liquid form at a dose of 2 grams which is incorporated into the mixture defined in claim 3. 5) Composition according to claim 1 characterized in that it contains soft extract of Jusquiame of soft consistency at a dose of 16.7 grams which is added to the mixture defined in claim 4. 6) Composition according to claim 1 characterized in that it contains Lanolin in a dose of 40 grams intimately mixed with the mixture defined in claim 5. 7) Composition according to claim 1 characterized in that it contains Vaseline excipient of pasty consistency at a dose of 40 grams mixed homogeneously with the mixture defined in claim 6. 8) A method of preparing the composition as defined in any one of the preceding claims and comprising all the elements mentioned according to claim 1 characterized in that it consists of an intimate mixture of the various constituents to obtain a very homogeneous dermal ointment .
