Abstract

The device has a container-shaped body portion with a moulded cap consisting of a threaded base (1) with a hollow conical upper body (2). The interior of the conical body has a number of projections (5) and includes a fluid flow opening (6) at its lower end. The top edge (11) of the conical body includes an elastic retaining mechanism formed by one or more metal or plastics springs (12). The springs and projections are dimensioned such that they retain a range of different sizes of brush passing through oblong apertures (9) in the base of the cap. ADVANTAGE - Prevents loss of solvent by evaporation by trapping and condensing within conical body.

Description

The present invention relates to an apparatus for cleaning brushes.

Currently, brush washers sold in Europe are simple open trays topped by a spring.

The major drawback of this design: ODOR and DANGERS OF HARMFULNESS
ON INHALIATION of TOXIC vapors, DANGER for allergic people.

Indeed, the turpentine oil or petroleum oil used for cleaning brushes are products giving off harmful vapors. In addition, these gaseous releases distort the quality of the product, because only the light solvents contained in one or the other are capable of effective cleaning, or, after one or two days of free air, the basic product becomes harmless and ineffective.

This new brush washer has the particularity of adapting in place of the capsules for closing disposable glass jars of large retailers. This device resembles a large plug, provided with lights (9) and surmounted by two springs (12). Since the closure is almost complete, it eliminates all the harmful effects due to petrol vapors. By keeping volatile gases inside the jar, the product retains all the efficiency necessary for good cleaning.

The user fills the jar halfway and closes using the screw-in brush washer (8). The paint brush or brushes are introduced inside the jar by the lights (9) of the brush wash.

When the brush is at the level of soaking, the user slides the handle between a turn of the spring (12), which by clamping will maintain the brush vertically.

This device can be made of metal or plastic, resistant to solvents.

The brush washer is a plug provided at its lower part (1) with a threaded elegance (8) which fits on disposable glasses. This cavity is pierced on the side and walled by lights (9), the size of which varies according to the diameter of the brushes commonly manufactured and sold.
