Abstract

The high pressure paint spray generator has three cylinders (2,8,17) and three pistons (3,11,18) fixed to a common rod (9). A solenoid valve (10) ensures alternate delivery of hydraulic fluid under pressure to inlet passages (7,13) at opposite ends of the centre of the three cylinders (8), driving the piston in alternating directions. Electromagnetic proximity detectors (4,15) at the inner end to the outer two cylinders control the operation of the solenoid valve, reversing the movement as the pistons approach the proximity detectors. The paint pressurised by the two outer pistons passes through inlet and outlet valves at the end of the cylinder. ADVANTAGE - Delivers smooth flow at paint spray.
