Abstract

The invention relates to a hygiene device which makes it possible, particularly in towns, to collect both paper and diverse waste products as well as dog excrement in a sand container or equivalent. The device essentially comprises a platform (4, 5) pivoting about a mast (1) anchored to the ground (2) and a waste bin (6) fixed to the platform; the latter serving as a movable concealing device for the sand container (7) and can be displaced in rotation simply by pushing. Application, in particular, as street furniture for hygienic use.

Description

 The present invention relates to the field of sanitary devices and systems for the collection of dog excrement and excrement. It relates more particularly to a device which is especially usable in cities, which combines both a system playing the role of sandbox, or equivalent, for dogs and a bin for the recovery of papers and other litter thrown by city dwellers.

 We are well aware of the series of problems posed, in particular in cities and especially large cities, by dog excrement which accumulates daily on pavements and sidewalks and represent considerable tonnages of excrement.

In an attempt to reduce these amounts of harmful and foul-smelling materials and in the face of the failure of the recommendations made to dog owners as well as in the absence of a system of fines - at least in
France- we have recommended and marketed a whole series of individual collection systems such as boxes with plastic bags, retractable dustpan with collection system, etc. In the big cities, like for example in Paris, the municipalities are equipped with motorcycles specially adapted for the collection by aspiration of excrement and the cleaning, at least summary, of the remaining traces. Such equipment entails considerable investment, maintenance and personnel costs which it is difficult, if not impossible to bear.

 We also know that, on the one hand, sandboxes (or equivalent material) are the most appropriate, if not the best, means for collecting dog excrement and that, on the other hand, dogs have the habit of relieving himself in odorous places already frequented by congeners and, generally, by using a support (or simulacrum) for the paw.

The applicant has based itself on the observations and experiences of all time to propose and develop a simple and effective device allowing an automatic collection in sandbox or equivalent without the disadvantages of sight or odor for the public and offering in in addition to the possibility of a receptacle for waste paper, packaging or the like which often soil sidewalks or public roads.

 According to the invention, the new sanitary device essentially comprises: a platform pivoting around a mast anchored to the ground and a bin attached to the platform, the latter serving as a movable cover for the sandbox, or container equivalent, and can be moved around the mast by a simple push.

 According to a particularly advantageous arrangement, the mast is stowed on the ground at an angle of a few degrees relative to the vertical position. It will be understood that, in such a system, the platform, mobile on the mast or the rod fixed to the ground and which serves as a support for the receptacle of the trash type, plays in a way the role of an eccentric with respect to fixed elements consisting of the mast and the sandbox.

 Therefore, in the normal or standby position, the platform tray (and its associated bin) conceals, at a selected distance as small as possible, the area of the waste bin. By exerting a slight push on the trash can, at breast height, the tray translates horizontally along a circular path and discovers the bin: it is at this point that the dog, attracted by the smell, must "free" in the sand receptacle. Once the operation is complete, it is enough to release the slight force exerted on the trash can so that the tray returns to its original position by itself.

 The connections between the platform and the mast or rod, fixed to the ground, as well as between the platform and the trash which acts as a container for common waste, can be achieved by various means known per se and various nonlimiting embodiments will be described or suggested below.

 In practice, the device according to the invention proves to be especially advantageous for installation on the sidewalks of cities. In fact, there are already, most often, waste paper bins or other detritus, fixed removably on a support, in these cities. Such locations are then specially indicated for installing the aforementioned device which does not take up more space and does not modify the structure and / or the aesthetics. I1 suffice to provide, for example in this case on the sidewalk, at the old location of the trash, an excavation serving as a sandbox and where the collected excrement can be removed periodically. According to a variant, said excavations can constitute a channel where animal excrement is conducted in a gutter and / or in the sewer.

 Thus, thanks to such a system, we can solve the problem of cleanliness both with regard to the collection of papers, flyers or others lying around on the ground as regards unpleasant strong and dangerous excrement that soil sidewalks and public roads .

 As can be seen in these illustrative representations and in particular in Figure 1, the sanitary system comprises: a mast (or rod) 1, made of metal or other rigid material, embedded and fixed in the ground 2 by its base 3; a platform, mobile and pivoting around the mast and comprising a socket or mandrel 4 secured to a plate 5. The assembly is installed on a sandbox 7 or equivalent excavation provided in an appropriate place, for example on a sidewalk in the city.

 The rigid connection between the mandrel 4 and the plate 5 can be ensured by various means such as, for example, rigid arms 8 (FIG. 3). One can also provide a unitary mandrel / plate as illustrated in fig.l, with the possibility of fixing and mounting / dismounting the mandrel 4 on the mast 1 by screws and bolts 9 or equivalent means. The rotation of the mandrel 4 around the mast 1 can be ensured in various ways such as for example by means of ball bearings 10 (fig. 4). Similarly, the trash can 6 is fixed to the mandrel 4 by any known means, preferably with the interposition of an anti-theft or non-removable system by square rod, or even by hanging on bars 11 provided on the mandrel 4.On the FIG. 5 illustrates the case where the system is installed near a channel 12 where canine excrement deposited in the sandbox or equivalent container can be evacuated.

 In operation, the system is extremely easy to maneuver since it suffices to push the trash 6 to discover the droppings container 7 and then to put the latter in position. As said above, if the mast 1 is anchored to the ground at a slight angle to the vertical, the pivoting of the bin 6, for example in positions 6 ′, 6 "(fiv. 2) allows a virtually automatic standby or "close" position.

 Such a dual-use device, both effective for dogs attracted by the smell and the presence of sand or the like, and relatively discreet for passers-by who essentially notice only a waste bin, can be considered as furniture urban in the same way as those with other functions, installed in cities.

Sanitary device, for installation in cities, allowing the collection of both various papers and detritus as well as dog excrement in a sandpit or equivalent, characterized in that it comprises a platform (4.5 ) pivoting around a mast (1) anchored to the ground (2) and a bin (6) fixed to the platform; the latter serving as a mobile cover for the sandbox (7) and which can be moved in rotation around the mast by a simple push.  2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the fixing of the mast (1) to the ground (2) is made at an angle of a few degrees relative to the vertical.  3. Device according to claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the mobile platform comprises a mandrel (4), in free rotation on the mast (1) and a plate (5) serving as a support for the bin.  4. Device according to claim 3, characterized in that the mandrel (4) and the plate (5) are made in one piece or connected by arms (8) or equivalent means.  5. Device according to any one of claims 3 to 4, characterized in that the mandrel (4) is provided with ball bearings (10) to ensure rotation around the mast (1).  6. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the fixing of the trash (6) or mandrel (4) is ensured by hanging bars (11) or equivalent means.
