Abstract

Device for storing pairs of skis in a vertical position. The heels of the two skis are first placed at floor level in a V-shaped component and then pushed into a vertical position between two hinged components forming a clamp which, as the skis contact a stop piece, triggers a spring and grips the pair of skis. The invention is used generally for storing skis in shops and in basements.

Description

 Traditionally the skis are stored vertically in a simple manner in racks, each cell of which can contain one or more pairs of skis. These devices have the disadvantage of not completely isolating the pairs of skis from each other, which presents a certain risk of damage during storage or removal operations.

 There are also more sophisticated systems in the form of lockers; which, in addition to the disadvantage of being bulky due to the presence of vertical partition walls, do not solve the problem of the stability of the skis, these being simply placed randomly against one of the partitions.

 The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks; each pair of skis is held in a vertical position in a fixed and independent manner. The chassis is composed, in the upper part, of a support (1-Fig. 1) held horizontally by vertical uprights and fixed on feet, and in the lower part, 10 cm from the ground, an iron in the shape of V (13-Fig. 3) always horizontal, in which the heel of the skis is placed. The skis are then pushed into a clamp (2-Fig.1) fixed on the angle of this support.

 These clips are made up of two elements, right and left. Each of these elements includes a round iron (2-Fig .1) and a flat iron (3-Fig.1) welded at right angles. The flat iron is kept in rotation in the angle at the edge of the weld by an axis (9-Fig.1) fixed to the chassis.

 The end of these flat bars ends in an opposite U-shaped cutout 64-Fig.2) allowing both the installation of a compression spring (5-Fig.1) and a plastic tube (6 -Fig.l) which serves as a stop against the skis.

 In the middle of the flat iron has a projection (7fig.l) which limits its travel in a hole in the support (8-Fig.1). From the projection to the U, the flat iron is folded up so that the spring and the plastic tube are raised from the support (4-Fig. 4).

 The clamp is maintained by the thrust of the spring which exceeds the equilibrium position between the two axes in the forward direction, and keeps the clamps against their stop in the open position which corresponds to the passage of the skis.

 By engaging the skis between the clamps and pushing them against the stopper, the spring is passed through the balance point which reverses the pressure in the direction of closing the clamps on the skis (12-Fig.2).

 It will not depart from the scope of the invention whatever the materials used in the construction of the device.

Claims (3)

 i - This device allows the storage of skis characterized by the vertical and stable holding in clamps actuated by a spring.  2 - Device according to claim i, characterized in that these clamps have two positions under the pressure of a single spring which operates in both directions, only actuated by the action of placing or removing the skis.  3 - Device according to claim i, characterized in that, these clamps are bent, first internally (10) to provide better support, and also to ensure greater movement which allows the spring to move away more of the balance point giving it more strength.
