Abstract

The invention relates to a device by means of which it is possible to monitor the respiration of sleeping infants and which triggers an alarm in the event of respiratory arrest. It consists of a battery-operated sensor which is placed on the infant, on a harness, and which tightens and slackens with the respiration of the infant. At each inhalation, the sensor sends a signal which is received by the receiver unit which is positioned at a distance. This receiver unit analyses the information issuing from the sensor and emitted by the latter and triggers an alarm in the event of an interruption in the emission of signals being received.
