The present invention relates to decorative supports which can be formed by plates or shaped volumes, such as vases, basins, amphorae or containers of any other shape.

 In order to make such decorative supports, several technical solutions have been proposed.

 The first of the known methods is that of coating the face concerned with a transparent support, a tin associated with a pigment incorporated in a uniform, diffuse or local layer.

 This method does not make it possible to obtain rich, varied and unalterable aesthetic effects over time. the added decorative layer is, moreover, sensitive to humidity and has a low abrasion resistance.

 It has also been recommended to introduce pigments into the mass when the support itself is produced. This method makes it possible to obtain melted patterns, by dilution and dispersion of the pigments or dyes in the melted material cast. These patterns undoubtedly have a certain aesthetic richness, but cannot be produced with many varieties, due to their inevitable dilution within the raw material. In particular, it is impossible to obtain patterns with clearly delimited contours, bright colors and marked contrasts.

 It has also been proposed, in particular by application FR 85-03 394 in the name of the applicant, a method of decorating a decorated transparent support, so that the pattern can be visually perceived by transparency. Generally, this method is applied to a glass support and consists in coating the rear or internal face of the support with a film of a coloring product in liquid form and based on solvent, then in randomly spraying onto the film. , drops, of at least one other coloring product, of similar composition.

 Such a method is recommended with the aim of producing, on the rear or internal face of a support, a decorative pattern protected from the risks of deterioration by blows, scratches, friction, etc.

 If the objective sought is thus achieved, it appears that such a process contacts limits of two orders.

 The first is due to the cold perception that the support offers to the touch by its external, smooth, even icy face that the glass provides. In the case of shaped volumes, which are generally, but also often unconsciously, the object of manipulation with a view to seeking tactile perception, such a process does not make it possible to provide the desired sensation, because if the volume offers a pleasant, sensitive decoration and warm visual perception, its contact provides, on the contrary, a kind of coldness which is not in close relation with this visual perception.

 The second is due to the obligation to process the decorative motif produced, each time the volume constitutes a vase, a basin or an amphora capable of receiving a container capable of creating or maintaining an aggressive contact for the motif. This is the case of solid objects capable of being placed in the volume or, more particularly, of water, when the volume is used as a flower vase for example.

 This obligation is satisfied by depositing on the motif a layer of a protective product capable of resisting abrasion, chemical attack and humidity.

 Such a requirement increases the cost of the process, increases the support and, above all, does not provide a pleasant aesthetic appearance. In addition, despite the care taken in constituting such a protective layer, it is not uncommon to observe a degradation over time of the protective function, in particular hydrophobic, to the point of leading to a deterioration, or even destruction of the pattern. decorative.

 The object of the invention is to propose a new decoration method which makes it possible to overcome the above two limits for the execution of a decorative pattern of certain aesthetic nature on any support, whether or not in shape, but, more particularly, on all supports of opaque nature, in rigid, non-deformable material, capable of providing a smooth surface.

 The object of the invention is to propose a method making it possible to produce a decorative pattern offering a great wealth of visual perception, but also an ability to satisfy, in particular for shaped supports, the search for a pleasant tactile perception and " warm "of the support in harmony with the decorative aspect.

 The object of the invention is also a decoration method making it possible to execute, from the external or external face of a support, one or more decorative patterns with remarkable and varied aesthetic characteristics, using coloring products which can be associated and mixed with each other, as well as with other constituents, so as to offer an infinite palette of compositions giving free rein to the aptitude, taste and dexterity of the decorator.

 An object of the invention is to propose a new decoration process making it possible to obtain, indifferently, pastel or highly contrasted patterns, based on one or more basic dyes, essentially associated with components or complementary products capable of enhance or enrich the decorative aspect produced by the colored products themselves.

According to the invention, the decoration process is characterized in that it consists in:

 Another object of the invention is to propose a new decoration process making it possible to obtain decorative patterns having good resistance to abrasion and to humidity.

 The invention also relates, as a new industrial product, to any decorative support obtained by implementing the process.

 The method of the invention consists in using an opaque support which can be of any suitable material offering an exterior surface of a smooth character, without necessarily being polished. It may therefore be glass, a plastic material, although the invention finds a preferred application in earthenware, ceramics and porcelain. The thickness of the support can be arbitrary with regard to the implementation of the invention and this support can be flat or, preferably, in shape by constituting, for example, a vase, a basin, an open ball, an amphora or any other container or similar object.

 For the implementation of the method, the first phase consists in treating the external or external face on which the decorative pattern must be provided, so as to make it free from foreign bodies, such as dust, fatty substances, films, films of all materials resulting either from manufacturing or from a temporary prior protection process.

 The treatment of the surface to be decorated depends, essentially, on the raw material and that to be eliminated and is not, as such, part of the process of the invention because, as a general rule, it is necessary to implement specific solvent products well known to those skilled in the art.

 The method of the invention consists in depositing, on the outer face, a coloring product in liquid form and based on solvent. This coloring product can be deposited by any suitable means, such as a pad or a brush, without there being any need to give it a uniform thickness.

 Preferably, spots of different coloring products are deposited locally which are mixed at the frank interfaces or in their border areas by a stencil-type action aimed at ensuring coarse dilution.

 The external surface, thus at least locally coated, is then subjected to a current of air at ambient or lukewarm temperature, for example by means of a blowing nozzle to cause a first action of partial dilution of the coloring products, a second action of creation of veins, mottles or patterns with more or less sustained, contrasting or diluted characters, then a third distribution or tensioning action leading to the production of a film of small thickness, substantially constant and relatively taut.

 Preferably, the air stream used is brought to a temperature between 50 and 800 ° C., so that the calories transported, without having an immediate drying and cooking action, cause the solvent medium to begin to evaporate, thus than a perceptible or imperceptible change in the colorants by thermal effect.

 To carry out the process, the liquid coloring product, based on solvent, is preferably chosen from those comprising an alcohol solvent, so as to make possible, if necessary, a dilution with a percentage of alcohol at 60 or, preferably, at 950, when it is desired to give the coloring product a pastel rather than a basic lively shade.

 Among the dyes available on the market, those sold under the name "V33 wood tone stain" for a specific application, make it possible to obtain particularly surprising results.

 The choice of coloring products deposited in spots depends essentially on the desired pattern, the fundamental shade sought and the secondary shades which have to appear in a detached or underlying manner.

 Another phase of the process consists in spraying onto the stretched, but not dry, film at least one other complementary coloring product, of similar composition, but including pigments or dyes of different shades. This projection is carried out by any means, in a random manner, to locally deposit drops, traces or spots which are caused to mix in variable proportions, or even to locally dilute in the film whose non-dry state promotes the diversity.

 Generally, it is advisable to spray more than one additional coloring product, depending on the desired aesthetic effect and, more often than not, a successive spraying of two coloring products of different shades is carried out.

 After depositing the additional coloring products and, if necessary, after having carried out a reduction, orientation, partial dilution by stencil effect applied to the interfaces between the coloring media of different fluidities, due to the prior partial evaporation of the product (s) dyes first deposited, the film is subjected to the action of a stream of air at room or warm temperature.

 This air flow acts, as previously, however having a differential action on the coloring products initially and secondarily deposited, due to the different state of fluidity of the coloring products deposited in a time-shifted manner with, preferably, action of a draft.

 The same phases of repetition of secondary coloring products are repeated as many times as necessary to compose the desired decorative pattern.

 The film of coloring products is then subjected to drying, so as to completely evaporate the solvent phase in order to obtain a dry, taut and adherent skin or film of colored material. This skin or film offers a varied mixture of the coloring products used and produces a certain aesthetic effect directly enhanced and visually enriched.

 With a view to improving the richness of the decorative pattern, it is generally preferred to resort to active drying of the coloring liquid products, using a heat source. This phase of the process has the effect of ensuring at least partial cooking of the dyes, or even of modifying the specific coloration of each of them or the coloration of their mixtures, as a function of the temperature applied.

 Obtaining a dried and baked pattern, resistant and highly aesthetic, is ensured by using a temperature between 60 and 900 C.

 Drying, aimed at producing evaporation and tension in the colored film, or even cooking, has the unexpected effect of giving rise to the formation of a shiny, smooth layer which offers good natural resistance to contact aggressions, friction, as well as moisture. As such, this layer also appears to offer, surprisingly, a pleasant "touch", flattering the dermal contact and providing a tactile perception which, unlike the pure glass contact, is in harmony with the heat. of the decorative motif produced.

 To further improve the aesthetic characteristics of the decorative pattern, provision may be made to incorporate, into the coloring products, powdery products of very small particle size, of bright colors and / or with high capacity for reflection. These products are sprayed or distributed randomly, for example sprinkled manually, before or after the spraying of the complementary coloring products, so as to form inclusions immobilized by the subsequent drying. The brightness of these inclusions is enhanced by any incident light radiation and contributes to enriching the decorative pattern produced. Various pulverulent materials can be used in this regard, from the moment when they are capable of providing one or more bright and / or metallic shards and, for example, powders of silver or golden materials are particularly suitable, alone or in combination.

 According to a development of the process of the invention, provision is made to deposit, over the colored layer or film, a transparent and smooth protective film. Such a film can be produced by an appropriate varnish deposited regularly by spraying.

 The invention is not limited to the examples described and shown, since various modifications can be made thereto without departing from its scope.
