Sorting device characterised in that it comprises a closed-loop travelling path which is composed of driving means (2, 3, 4) which are intersected by separators (5, 6, 7) which reset the plates (12) travelling on the travelling path to a certain separation, the loading devices (8, 9, 10) being distributed along the travelling path (1), always directly downstream of a separator (5, 6, 7), the plates (12) comprising coding means in order to receive the destination coding at the position of a loading device (13, 14, 15; 8; 9; 10) and to permit the reading of the code at the entry of the receiving device (16, 17) in order to actuate the unloading from the plate (12) and the despatching of the package to the storage area corresponding to its destination.
