Abstract

The invention relates to a compact device allowing remote control, by means of a keyboard, and a mechanical or electronic security key, of no matter what protection or alarm system. The device is characterised in that it includes built-in approach detection and a system for audible and visual dissuasion, activation and timing of which is subordinated to this detection.

Description

 The present invention relates to a device making it possible to control from an external perimeter any protection, monitoring and alarm system while simultaneously ensuring automatic detection of approach and active audio-visual deterrence by modules incorporated in the device and the operation of which is subject to this detection.

 There are a number of devices for controlling protection and alarm systems from the outside, but none of them contain an automatic approach detection system coupled with an active hearing and visual deterrent device. External deterrence is traditionally ensured by passive methods such as a sign or warning sticker placed in strategic places.

This type of passive deterrence remains relatively uncertain, however, especially since the proliferation on the market of artificial deterrent systems ranging from simple "warning alarm" adhesive to the small flashing LED that is not connected to anything, has totally discredited the real protection systems and threw the disorder into the minds of criminals who now consider that any passive deterrent system is likely to be a placebo.

 The device according to the invention makes it possible to control, activate or deactivate any protection, monitoring or alarm system and simultaneously ensure automatic detection of approach coupled to an active audio-visual deterrent system.

 The control member is constituted by a keyboard with keys (3) which can, according to the embodiments, be replaced by a mechanical or electronic security key.

 This control member makes it possible to modulate the operation of the security system to which the device is connected. The deterrents (2) (7), both visual and auditory, are triggered and timed by the detection member (5) included in the device. According to particular embodiments, the detection member will be constituted either by an ultrasound system, or infrared, or hyper-frequency or others.

Active deterrence is materialized by 2 distinct signals, one visual, the other auditory. The visual signal is in the form of a glass (2) in which a luminous and flashing warning text is displayed, the alternating frequency of which is approximately 1.5 Hz (0.75 sec. Display for 0.25 seconds of screen off). The auditory signal is emitted by a mini speaker (7) at an intermittenoe identical to that of the blinking text. According to a particular embodiment, the intermittent sound signal emitted by the loudspeaker will be replaced by a spoken warning message, generated by a speech synthesis module included in the device.

 The device also includes a 118-db micro-siren (6). This siren can be triggered either by the device itself (sabotage attempt, tearing off, cable break, introduction of more than 10 incorrect codes), or by the security system to which the device is connected and of which it allows the command. In this way it serves as a secondary siren.

Active deterrence of the device works differently according to 2 distinct options
10 when the premises concerned are unoccupied (anti-intruder deterrent
anti-intrusion).

20 when the premises concerned are occupied (anti-aggression deterrent
physical).

 The switching of the deterrent texts and signals from one to the other takes place automatically when the protection system controlled by the device is activated or deactivated using the keyboard or the control key (3) .

 The practical example below provides a better understanding of the mechanism of the exchange carried out.

When leaving the protected premises, the user enters his particular code on the keyboard in order to make the protection operational. From this moment any person approaching the entrance at a distance varying from 0.50 to 5 m (this distance being adjustable for each particular case) will be detected by the device, which will display the luminous text and next flashing: CAUTION ALARM - TYPE YOUR CODE
This text will flash for 6 sec. simultaneously with an audible warning signal. This audio-visual warning combination plays automatically in 6 sec increments. as long as a person remains in the immediate vicinity of the entrance without typing the access code on the keyboard. The purpose of the operation is, obviously, to discourage a possible criminal from attacking this entry, given that the device allows him to assume, from outside the protected perimeter, the sophistication of the protection system. Conversely, when the user returns to the premises, he just has to retype his particular code so that the security system is deactivated and the deterrence of the device is modified.

From this moment anyone approaching the entrance will be detected by the device, which will cause the following luminous and flashing text to appear: CAUTION ANTI-AGGRESSION SYSTEM ACTIVE
This text will flash for 6 seconds simultaneously with an audible warning signal (this audible signal is different from that which accompanies the deterrent text "ALARM").

 This audio-visual warning combination automatically plays in 6-second increments as long as a person remains in the immediate vicinity of the entrance without being invited to enter by the user. The obvious purpose of this operation is to discourage a possible criminal from engaging in an assault attempt.

 The detection member (5) the micro-siren (6) and the mini-speaker (7) are mechanically integral with the plate (4) which has shoulders intended to receive them, this plate constitutes a part of the housing ( 1).
