Abstract

The invention relates to a device for preventing water in pipelines along the roadside from flowing back into the locations at which it is collected for drainage. It consists of a pipe 1 which contains a stepped ring 2 carrying the spindle 4 about which the two halves of the shutter 5 pivot. When, following flooding, the water which flows back into the pipeline 1 exerts a pressure on the flap 5, it opens and bears on the seal 3 carried by the ring 2. A sheet of rubber 6 seals the device. The device in question thus provides the anti-flood service for which it was conceived.
