Abstract

The invention relates to modifications introduced by the use of titanium in the manufacture of the mechanisms of these instruments. By virtue of the strength and low weight of titanium, the volume of metal is decreased and the keywork is lightened. This has the effect of improving the sound of the instrument, decreasing its weight, increasing the strength of the mechanisms, promoting speed of execution by the instrumentalist and producing novel assemblies, in particular removing certain difficulties for the clarinettist.
