Abstract

The subject of the present invention is a load-bearing motor vehicle axle which includes a deformable crossmember 1 and two arms 2 made from folded metal sheet which are fixed to the crossmember and on each of which the wheel axle 5 is mounted. According to the invention, the ends of the crossmember are bounded by two planes which are oblique with respect to the longitudinal axis of the crossmember and are closed by two flat bases 3 onto which the arms 2 are welded.
