Abstract

Novel capture system for animals termed as "pests" for hunting. Description

 Coming under the category of so-called cat flies or big cat traps, the invention relates to a capture device without injury, offering the considerable advantage of deceiving the fox's distrust.

Constructed from a wide variety of materials, all known cat boxes have the shape of a rectangular parallelepy with a pallet or bait trigger system causing the doors to close when the animal passes. Forming a corridor, these boxes do not inspire any confidence in the fox which does not engage in them (exception made for some young foxes caught in large live bait boxes.)
The reason for the distrust of the adult fox is obvious: the mustelids (martens, polecats, etc.) have their eyes located about 10 cm from the ground. Their visual field does not allow them to distinguish the shape of an ordinary cat flap (1 mx 25 cm.x 28 em.) It is not the same for the fox. Its visual field allows it to distinguish perfectly the form . On the other hand, the path traveled by the fox in one night gives him the opportunity to meet too many similar systems.
