Abstract

This medical device allows collection of elements from inside the maxillary sinuses suffering from chronic disease in adults and children. The probe is made of silicone, polyethylene or PTFE (GORETEX< TM >), or any other new material of the same type. An inflatable balloon included in its walls allows the probe to be held after fitting. The probe is hollowed with at least three channels, each allowing study of a different function. Fitting is performed through a double-T transnasal sinus aerator, under endonasal fibroscope monitoring. A graduated reference mark allows correct positioning of the probe to be ensured.
