Abstract

Device for resuscitation of a drowning person. The invention relates to a portable device which can be used by any person present, or any rescue worker, at the actual site of the incident, avoiding conventional mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, and allowing the liquid contained in the airways of the subject to be sucked out before a volume of air intended to restart his breathing is insufflated. It is an apparatus consisting of two chambers A and A', each fitted with a piston and connected, on the one hand, via a middle tube fitted with non-return valves, to the mouth of the drowning person, and on the other hand to the outside: at E for ejecting debris, at F for feeding with air (still with two non-return valves); and also fitted at two locations J and K with safety systems with a view to regulating both the suction and the insufflation.
