Abstract

The invention makes it possible to detach the adjoining turns of the bale over its entire length as it is being detached. The skip comprises a bundle of teeth 1d located in line transversely to the direction of travel of the bottom conveyor, and projecting or being retracted with respect to the bottom of the skip; the bundle consists of a plurality of elements made from a spring-steel rod wound in two spirals of opposite pitch whose ends are extended tangentially by a straight part 1d; the elements mounted on an independent or common spindle are retracted as the small bars of the conveyor pass by. Two blades 5 swinging in a plane which is parallel to the plane of travel of the conveyor, at a distance from the latter which corresponds substantially to the thickness of one turn of the bale act via their bevelled edge on one end of the bale. The invention may be fitted to all the bale-unrolling machines.
