Abstract

The invention relates to a method for the factory regulation of a bimetal for a protective switch, and the device for its implementation. The regulating method consists in detecting the relative position of the bimetal (32) in relation to an external side wall (34) of the box serving as zero reference and which is separated by a given fixed distance from a unit (30) which is to meet up with the bimetal in order to trigger the switch, and in mechanically deforming the bimetal (32) by twisting so as to adjust the distance separating it from the reference wall (34). The invention applies in particular to protective switches of the circuit-breaker type.
