Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a device making it possible to improve the combustion of hydrocarbons or liquid combustibles of biological origin used in internal combustion or reaction engines or else in burners intended for propulsion or heating.
Various types of devices of this kind are already known, by means of which attempts are made to obtain as complete combustion of the hydrocarbons as possible by using potholder or hydraulic methods for the fractionation or gasification of the hydrocarbons or else their unbalanced association with the oxidizing gases. However, in these known devices, the combustion of hydrocarbons remains incomplete, especially in internal combustion engines with very rapid rotation, such as in the nozzles of rectors or high-flow burners. This leads to the discharge into the atmosphere of a relatively high proportion of mixtures incompletely used hydrocarbons. The consequences of this imperfect combustion are, in particular, firstly a reduction in the theoretical energy yield, in the form of loss of power, volume or heat, then a higher consumption of hydrocarbons or oxidizing gas to obtain the power or the efficient combustion required, and finally an increase in atmospheric pollution risk by production of carbon monoxides and toxic nitrogen derivatives.
The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks by providing a device based on a physicochemical action of electric, electromagnetic and magnetic fields.
To this end, this device making it possible to improve the combustion of hydrocarbons or liquid fuels of biological origin used in internal combustion or jet engines or even in burners intended for propulsion or heating, comprising a mixing device or a carburetor for the formation of a fuel / air emulsion supplied to the apparatus in which combustion takes place, is characterized in that it comprises means for subjecting the hydrocarbon or the liquid combustible product and / or i 'imuision fuel / air to the action of an electromagnetic field at high or very high frequency.
According to a complementary characteristic of the invention, the device comprises an external generator of a high frequency current connected to at least one member of the mixer or of the carburetor emitting the high frequency electromagnetic field.
An embodiment of the present invention will be described below, by way of non-limiting example, with reference to the attached drawing in which
Figure 1 is a block diagram of a device
according to the invention improving the combustion of a hydrocarbon in an internal combustion engine.
Figure 2 is a diagram of a variant of the device of Figure 1, with a detailed electronic diagram of the "high frequency signal generator.
The device according to the invention which is shown in Figures 1 and 2, is intended to improve the combustion of a hydrocarbon in an internal combustion engine whose cylinders are powered by a carburetor 1. In this carburetor the supply of liquid hydrocarbon, such as octane, benzene, etc., is carried out by an axial nozzle 2 which sprays, in the form of a mist or droplets, the hydrocarbon constituting the fuel at the location of a venturi 3 intended for the acceleration of the mass of air necessary for combustion. The emulsion h> drocarbon / air thus obtained crosses, at the outlet of the carburetor, a grid 4 extending transversely, over the whole of the passage section or only part of it. This grid is fixed on a support annular isoiant 5, to isolate the grid 4 from the body of the carburetor 1 grounded. This grid 4 is made of an electrically conductive metal, such as copper, or also of a metal with a catalytic effect of oxidation, such as platinum. This grid 4 is connected, such as a HF or VHF antenna, to the output 6 of a high or very high frequency current generator 12 shown in block diagram form in the figure]. This generator 12 comprises a filtered and stabilized continuous supply 7 which may further consist of the battery (at 12 volts) of the vehicle on which the engine is mounted. This supply 7 is connected to the various stages of the generator and in particular to a modulation modulation stage. signals 8, delivering periodic output signals, for example of rectangular shape, which are applied 9 an amplification stage 9 which is connected to an input of a mixer 10. Another input of this mixer 10 is connected at the output of an HF or VHF oscillator 11 which operates at a frequency reserved by the telecommunications for such tasks, for example at the frequency of 27.2 MHz. The mixer 10 consequently delivers, at its output, a train of HF or VHF signals cut to the frequency of the signals supplied by the modulator stage 8. This train of HF or VHF signals cut is applied, by output 6, to grid 4.
The hydrocarbon / air emulsion obtained at the outlet of the venturi 3 passes through the grid 4 supplied with HF signals or
VHF, by being subjected to the action of the alternating electromagnetic field generated by this grid. After having undergone this electromagnetic treatment, the emulsion then enters a vestibule 13 for distributing the emulsion to the cylinders, of which only two of them have been shown diagrammatically in 14 and 15. It is however obvious that the emulsion can be directed to the nozzle of a burner or alternatively it can be used to feed rocket nozzles or jet or turbine engines.
In the alternative embodiment of the invention shown in FIG. 2 other elements of the device according to the invention are connected to the output 6 of the HF or VHF signal generator 12. In particular the body of the venturi 3, made of a material electrically conductive, is electrically connected to output 6 of the HF or VHF signal generator 12.
17 à travers laquelle passe un conducteur 19 de liaison avec la sortie 6 du générateur 12.The venturi 3 is isolated from the body of the carburetor 1 by an insulating ring 16 which is interposed between the external surface of the venturi 3 and the internal surface of the body of the carburetor 1. This ring 16 is extended outwards, through the body of the carburetor, by an insulating bushing
17 through which a conductor 19 connecting with the output 6 of the generator 12 passes.
It can also be seen in FIG. 2 that the device can also include a second grid 19, made of an electrically conductive material or with a catalytic effect, which is embedded in the fuel within the constant level tank 21 of the carburetor. This grid 19 is suspended from an insulating member 22, such as a stud or ring, incorporated in the wall of the tank 21, and it is connected to the outlet 6 of the generator 12 by a conductor 23 passing through the insulating member 22.
The HF or VHF 12 generator, the power of which can range from a few milliwatts to a few watts, can be supplied either by the battery 24, of 12 volts, of the vehicle on which the engine is mounted, or by a continuous, filtered electrical supply. , at 12 volts, completely independent.
The signal modulation stage 8, for example rectangular, is piloted, for example, by a monostable oscillator 25 of the CD 4069 type, the generation of these signals being both maintained by resistors 26, 27 and by a capacitor 28. This stage modulator is connected to the base of an amplifier transistor 29, for example of the 2N2222 type, via a resistor 31 of 3.3 kiloohms.
The emitter of this amplifier transistor receives, by means of another transistor 32, for example of the same type 2N2222, and from a tuning circuit 33 (self and capacitor in parallel), a frequency signal HF or VHF produced by an oscillator stabilized by quartz. This oscillator consists of an oscillator set stage, comprising a transistor 34, for example of the RC237 type, and a quartz 35 connected between the collector of transistor 34 and the power supply. In the collector of transistor 34 there is also the primary winding of an HF transformer 36 tuned to the frequency of quartz 35. The secondary winding of this transformer 36 is supplied by the base of a transistor 37, for example of type 2N221QA, determining the power stage. The collector of transistor 37 supplies the primary winding of a transformer 39 whose secondary winding is connected to the base of transistor 32. The HF signal from transformer 38 is thus transmitted through the transistor 32 and the tuning circuit 33, at the output of the generator which thus delivers the cut high frequency signal so as to form a high frequency rectangular signal train.
We can reinforce the polarization effect which is provided by the emitting emitters 4 and 19 and the venturi 3, by mounting on the carburetor body, made of a magnetic metal such as aluminum or copper, one or more permanent magnets or electromimants 39, in order to obtain, by the conjunction of the permanent magnetic field produced by the magnet (s) or electromagnets'39 and the HF or VHF electromagnetic field (s) produced by grid 4 and / or grid 19 and / or venturi 13, an even more effective nuclear magnetic resonance effect theoretically to obtain the desired polarization effects.
