The present invention relates to a device for conditioning the air in an enclosure, comprising an envelope 6 arranged in the vicinity of the ceiling of the enclosure 2, in which there are housed means for setting the air in circulation between at least one air inlet 9 in the vicinity of the ceiling and at least one air outlet 10 in the vicinity of the floor of the enclosure, and means for conditioning the air. According to the invention, the air outlet is made in the vicinity of the floor 11 at the lower end 13 of a duct 14 which is connected at its upper end 15 to said envelope 6 and the width of which increases from its upper end 15 to its lower end 13, the area of the section of the duct 14 being kept at least essentially constant over its entire height. The invention applies in particular to fermentation cabinets.
