Abstract

The invention relates to a composite unit for acoustic insulation intended to cover internal or external walls in order to absorb sound waves. According to the invention, the composite unit 1 for acoustic insulation has an internal structure made up of three layers in which: - the first layer 3 is formed of a cellular material of low density, such as a cork which exhibits properties of absorbing sound waves of high and medium frequencies; - a second central layer 4 made of a very dense material, such as a cork of high density, able to absorb sound waves of low and medium frequencies; - a third layer 5 formed from a material similar to that used for making the first layer 3. The invention will find its application especially in the acoustic insulation of domestic dwellings.
