Abstract

Rotating platform fitted to a fixed partition. The assembly is composed of a fixed partition-like part 2, and a mobile platform 1 which, in the vertical position, closes the partition and, in the horizontal position, forms a table, opening up in the partition an opening equal to its surface. The device according to the invention is intended in particular to equip flats, between the kitchen and the living room.

Description

 The present invention relates to a fixed partition, intended to be generally disposed between the kitchen and the living room of a dwelling, and comprising a movable part which, when positioned horizontally, serves as a table.

 Holiday accommodation is generally small in relation to its occupancy capacity. However, very often, the dining table with chairs or benches take up an important place in the living room, eliminating any possibility of installing armchairs and a living room sofa.

 The problem to be resolved is therefore to rationalize the available space as much as possible, taking into account the essential equipment for the use of the accommodation.

 The main object of the invention is to produce a partition closing all or part of the kitchen, and a movable part of which can form a dining table.

 The device according to the invention makes it possible to achieve this, since in the closed position, the table top is vertical, and is integrated into the partition, closing the latter.

 In a horizontal position, it is at a height corresponding to that of a dining room table, protruding on either side of the partition, allowing guests to sit on its two lengths, with the necessary space for the legs.

 The partition may include several arrangements in order to improve its utilitarian, aesthetic aspect, or its adaptation to the configuration of the premises. Thus, it can be equipped with shelves, cupboards and various storage. It can also include offset plans, as well as doors, corner returns and others.

 The tray, depending on its weight, and in order to facilitate its handling, can be equipped with any suitable compensation system.

 The partition (2) being fixed, the plate (1) in the vertical position integrates therein, completely closing the opening.

In a horizontal position, it has an opening equal to its surface, and allows users to sit on its two lengths, its dimensions corresponding to the number of people for whom it is provided (Fig. 1).

 The mechanism used for its movement allows it, in a horizontal position, to be astride the partition, overflowing on either side of it (Fig. 2).

 Figure 3 illustrates an exemplary sectional view, the plate (1) being firm, oO the partition (2) has several offset planes, and is equipped with shelves (3).

 According to a preferred embodiment (Fig. 4), the guide and the maintenance of the plate (1) is effected by the combination, on the one hand, of two pins (5) fixed in the thickness of the partition (2) , and sliding in two grooves (6) practi cated in the thickness of the plate, in its two lateral dimensions, and on the other hand, two arms (4) articulated by one of their ends to the partition, and by the others ends at two corners of the tray. The points of articulation of the arms (4) on the partition (2) are located on the lateral sides of the opening, in the thickness of the partition, and slightly offset from the middle of the thickness.

 The plate (1) is kept in a horizontal position when the two pins (5) come into abutment at one end of the groove (6).

 In the vertical position, the plate (1) is suspended from the two articulated arms (4), its blocking being ensured by magnets, hooks, or any other suitable system.

 An example of embodiment (Fig. 5) shows us the partition (2) with its open tray (1), and fitted with cupboard (7), shelves (3), and corner return (8).

 The device according to the invention is particularly intended for housing of small size compared to the number of people intended to use it.

CLAIMS generally  1) Partition (2) separating / a kitchen from a living room, characterized in that it comprises a movable part (1) which can be folded down and locked in a horizontal position, at a height corresponding to that of a table .  2) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the plate is held in the open position by the pins (5), arms (4) and sliding (6) used for its manipulation, and in the closed position by any suitable blocking system.  3) Device according to claim 1 or 2 characterized in that the tray (1) in the open position projects beyond each side of the partition (2), sharing the footprint between the kitchen and the living room.  4) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the fixed partition (2) can form a single plane, or have different offset planes.  5) Device according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the tray (1) on the kitchen side is guided and maintained by two pins (5) fixed to the partition (2), and sliding in two grooves (6) made in its thickness. The living side describes an arc defined by two articulated arms (4), fixed on the one hand to the partition, and on the other hand at two angles of the plate. The nipples sliding in the grooves come into abutment when the plate has reached its horizontal position. It is locked in the vertical position by magnets, hook or any other suitable system.
