Abstract

Electrical distribution base transformer containing a vessel 6 provided with cooling vanes 28, characterised in that it is enclosed in a protective envelope linked to the transformer and consisting of a support collar 1 and of two half-shells 2, 3, one 2 of which is fixed and integral with the transformer and the other 3 of which is mobile about a hinge pin 25 acting as a shield in the open position and giving access to the elements and auxiliaries required for the use and maintenance of the transformer, the fixed half-shell containing perforated faces 32, 38 enabling air to flow along the said cooling vanes.

Description

Electric distribution base transformer
The present invention relates to a base electrical distribution transformer.

 Often, distribution transformers, when low voltage distribution is overhead, are placed on poles. When it is not the case, the transformer being on the ground, it is located inside a small closed construction and inaccessible to the public which is called a "Post" and which besides contains other electrical equipment.

 The object of the present invention is to provide a ground distribution transformer for an underground distribution network.

 The subject of the invention is dc.nc a distribution transformer comprising a tank provided with cooling fins, characterized in that it is enclosed in a protective envelope linked to the transformer and consisting of a support ferrule and two half-shells, one of which is fixed, integral with the transformer and the other of which is movable around a hinge axis acting as a shelter in the open position and giving access to the organs and auxiliaries necessary for operation and maintenance of the transformer, the fixed half-shell comprising perforated faces allowing air circulation along said cooling fins.

 Figure 1 thus shows a distribution transformer enclosed in its protective casing.

 This envelope essentially comprises a support ring 1 and two half-shells 2 and 3. The support ring is crossed by two support beams 4 and 5 on which the tank 6 transformer rests by means of W support brackets 7 and 8 (Figures 2 and 3j. The assembly rests on a concrete base 9.

 In FIG. 2, the half-shell 3 of the casing is lifted, allowing access to the members attached to the transformer itself. This figure shows the three input conductors 10, 11 and 12 leading to the bushings 13, 14 and 15, the outlet bushings 16 to 19, the circuit breaker 20 and the four starting cables 21 to 24. The half-shell 3 pivots around the hinge axis 25; cylinders 26 and 27, such as lift cylinders for the tailgate of automobiles, ensure the lifting of the half-shell.

 The tank 6 of the transformer has cooling fins 28 (Figures 2, 4, 5).

 The top of the tank 6 is closed by a cover 29 on which are welded two crosspieces 30 and 31 on which rests an air grid or grating 32 fixed to the crosspieces by means of lugs 33 welded to the crosspieces. Uprights 34 and 35 complete the architecture on which the fixed half-shell is fixed 2. These uprights are fixed on the one hand to the grating 32 and on the other hand to the support ferrule 1 by means of fixing parts 36 and 37.

 Eh lower part, there is another grid 38 of ventilation of the cooling fins. This grid is fixed on supports 39 (FIG. 3, 4) welded to the support shell 1.

 The assembly can be lifted by means of two legs 40 and 41 pivoting about an axis, respectively 42 and 43. La40 leg is shown in dotted lines in its folded position.

 A fully enclosed transformer is thus obtained, the protective casing of which is integral with the transformer itself by means of the tank.

Claims (1)

 CLAIM  Electric distribution base transformer, comprising a tank (6) provided with cooling fins (28), characterized in that it is  enclosed in a protective envelope linked to the transformer and  consisting of a support ferrule (1) and two half-shells (2, 3)  one of which (2) is fixed, integral with the transformer and the other of which (3)  is movable around a hinge axis (25) serving as a shelter  open position giving access to the necessary organs and auxiliaries  the operation and maintenance of the transformer, the half-shell  fixed with perforated faces (32, 38) allowing circulation  air along said cooling fins
