Abstract

This apparatus comprises a filter cartridge 11 arranged on a filter head 1 and a liquid separator. The receptacle 5 of the separator is attached to the head 1 and is provided with a purge valve 7 the plug 8 of which is loaded by a closing spring 9. To simplify the construction of the apparatus and to reduce the number of components needed to keep the filter cartridge 11 in place, the closing spring 9, via its end extending away from the plug 8 of the purge valve 7, is applied directly or via an intermediary part such as a supporting plate 10 to the filter cartridge 11, thus holding this cartridge in place on the filter head 1. The plug 8, the spring 9 and the plate 10 are made of a single piece of plastic.
