Abstract

Device for reducing the drag on a telescopic fork. The invention relates to a device for reducing the drag on a telescopic fork equipping a motorbike, without needing to replace this fork or part of this fork. It consists of a yoke, clamping, by a screw 13 with the aid of two branches 10 and 11, the arm of the sheath 9, in the region of the pin hole 1. A hole 17 in the yoke positions the pin 6. A plate 16 connected to the yoke positions the sheath 9 relative to the yoke in the region of the original fastenings 14 on the sheath 9. This advanced position of the pin 6 relative to the pin 1 determines, by calculation, a new and reduced drag value. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for the telescopic fork of a motorbike with or without a sidecar.

Description

The present invention relates to a device for modifying the drag on all types of telescopic forks of motorcycles
Motorcycles equipped with telescopic forks have a hunting or drag more than 90 mm for the solo. With sidecar, the drag should be reduced to 25 - 30 mm for better driving comfort and reduced tipping effort. To reduce this drag, the current systems require the replacement of the fork Tees where the fork is completed by a balance fork or by the original front wheel by a wheel with a smaller diameter. increasing the inertia of the steering in the case of the Lancier bal fork, radically changing the characteristics and original aesthetics of the vehicle
The device according to the invention makes it possible to remedy these disadvantages
Because this adding, without modification of the original fork, at the bottom of the sleeves, in a removable way. Its function is to move the axis of the front wheel from its point of origin on the sheath towards the front of said sheath, by a variable value depending on the drag value sought. The device, whatever its material and method of manufacture, molding where mechanic welding consists of a stirrup clamping the bottom of the fork sheath, at the level of the original wheel axle hole. Tightening and centering being obtained by passing a screw in the stirrup arm ensuring a homogeneous connection. At the opposite end of the caliper, at a determined and variable distance, a hole is provided for the location of the axle of the front wheel. A plate secured to the caliper and taking support on the sheath, at the level of the fixing holes of the brake caliper plate where directly on the body of the sheath by means of collars, prevents the caliper from have an oscillating movement on itself along the old axis of rotation of the wheel. This same plate positions the brake caliper relative to the brake disc. Each sheath receiving such a device.
