Abstract

Fluorescent electric light bulb. The invention relates to a fluorescent electric discharge bulb, with forward longitudinal emission, with supply and fixing by base 12 on one side only of the bulb and obtained by welding a glass tube equipped with two electrodes at its two ends, to one side only of the bulb. It consists of a cylindrical 10 glass envelope 13 inside which is stuck a fluorescent powder 17, and which is closed at one end by a round bottom 15 and at the other by a welded 11 stem 1 supporting the electronic equipment. This stem carries an exhaust tube 9 and, at the vertex of its low part, four glass-metal passages 18 and a central tube 8. The two outer passages 2, 3 are intended for the electrodes of the stem, and the central passages 20 for supplying 14 the electrodes 4, 5 of the end of the stem 21. After which the filaments 6, 7 are gripped on their respective electrodes, those at the foot 2, 3 being close to one another so as to conform to the separation, and the stem is mounted, welded 11 to the envelope previously coated with powder, the latter being removed from the borders of the weld. The mercury 16 is disposed in the envelope by the exhaust tube, and the copper strands 19 of the electrodes are joined.

Description

The present invention relates to an electric light bulb, of the fluorescent lamp type, with low pressure hot cathodes, with photoluminescent solid, with direct longitudinal discharges from one end to the other of the envelope and mounting by a foot, ensuring in in addition to supply and fixing by a single contact base
The discharge is created between the filaments coated with rare earths, the positioning of the emissive assemblies promoting an instantaneous ignition, also due to a good homogeneity of the gas space made of ionized mercury vapor.
The bulb consists of a glass envelope (13) of cylindrical shape (10) in which a fluorescent powder (17) is stuck closed at one end by a round bottom (15) and at the other by a foot ( 1) welded (11) supporting the device - electronic wire
This foot carries welded on its side a queusot (9) .and it is closed at its first upper part by fourp-wise 1? 8) glass-metal, and a tube'cen-tral (8) of supp, ort Both external passages (2,3) correspond to the two electrodes of the foot, and the two central passages (20) to supply (14) the electrodes (4,5) from the end of the foot (21)
These electrodes (4,5) are connected to their respective supply wire (14), then welded (21) to the end of the internal support tube (8). Then the filaments (6,7) are arranged and pinched, pat pair of electrodes, those at the bottom being brought closer to each other in order to respect the spacing -ment required. After which, the foot is welded (iî) to the envelope-envelope, which has been previously closed and coated with fluorescent powder. The weld area is cleaned of all materials including powder, prone to leaks
The bulb thus completed is mounted on a pumping frame by the queusot, residual steaming, introduction (16) of the mercury placed under vacuum, electrical preparation, filling with argon, then short sealing of the queusot, insertion in the base (12 ) and electrical connection (19) of the bulb
according to particular scheme
