  The present invention relates to a racquet string, in particular

tennis racket.

  The traditional string of tennis rackets, consisting of strings gut or synthetic material, has the disadvantage of becoming soft in the long run in its central area, that is to say in the area that hits the ball. This results from the fact that the tension of the strings is considerably relaxed already after a short game duration.   The present invention therefore aims to provide a racquet string, in particular for a tennis racket, allowing

  to avoid the disadvantages indicated above.

  This object is achieved by the rope according to the invention, characterized in that it comprises ropes of different thicknesses. According to an advantageous embodiment, the rope comprises a central zone and a peripheral zone, and this peripheral zone comprises ropes which are thinner than the ropes of the central zone. This takes into account the higher stresses in the central zone of the rope, providing in this zone ropes thicker than the thin ropes of the peripheral zone, these thick ropes being able to

also be tense more strongly.

  This rope is also advantageous in that, if the strings of the central zone are worn out, it is sufficient to change these strings without having to change at the same time the ropes of the peripheral zone, since the rope comprises two groups of ropes
