Abstract

Built-in and self-contained lighting device for a woman's handbag, a briefcase, a suitcase, etc. The invention relates to a device for lighting the inside of a handbag or alternatively the outside as desired by the user, but without the latter needing to perform a particular action to turn it on. It is constituted by one or more electric batteries A, by flexible conductors B and a lighting unit C. The novelty resides in the design and the position of this unit which operates by pressure alone. Thus, by opening the bag, the hand of the user is naturally well located in order to act at the same time on the switch. It is sufficient to squeeze the flap a little more strongly in order to switch the lamp on so that it can then light the inside of the bag or the outside area by making use of the flexibility of the flap, in the same way as a torch. The device according to the invention is of interest to the bagmaking industry and to the luxury leather goods industry.

Description

 The present invention relates mainly to women's handbags but can also interest all kinds of luggage, suitcases, briefcases, etc. It is a question of obtaining the interior lighting of the bag when the need arises, but also to have an adjustable lighting at will in order to illuminate a point env: .ronnant any. so when the user has just taken the key to his car or apartment from the handbag, he can then light the lock that will receive it. In the same way, he can search for a lost object just as if he had a classic flashlight.

This double aspect can be supplemented by multiple other uses such as: seeing a possible aggressor, being recognized by means of a light signal, etc. which makes this invention very practical.

 To date, there are two devices which aim at an approaching goal. They are of the automatic type using a twilight cell in parallel with a special closure or simply a clasp with integrated contactor.

 In the first case, the lamp must not light the cell under penalty of non-operation. As a result, the lighting possibilities are limited and part of the target is destroyed.

 In the second case, the fairly bulky clasp hardly adapts to a flexible flap bag, and works each time the bag is opened whether or not it needs lighting.

In addition, if the clasp is forgotten or improperly locked, the lamp remains on unnecessarily.

 In both cases, the complexity and unreliability of the systems hampered their popularization.

 The present invention consists in incorporating into the interior of a handbag (or any other container) an electrical system whose particularity is to operate according to the will of the user and without the latter having to resort to a particular gesture for putting it into operation (see PL 2).

 The realization according to the invention is possible thanks to a contactor-lamp of reduced model specially designed for the needs and which functions by pressure of the thumb (see PL 2 and 3). This assembly is placed so that the natural position of the hand which opens and holds the bag is at the same time well placed to act on the contactor which closes the circuit by simple pressure. The user just has to pinch the flap a little harder for the lamp to light up. The flap being flexible there is also the possibility of orienting the light beam in the desired direction either at a point which is not inside the bag or outwards to illuminate the environment.

 For information only, and without the following explanation being limiting, here is how the present invention can be implemented (PL 1 and 2).

 The system is characterized by an electrical device comprising a generator A (electric battery type) which is discreetly placed in a case incorporated in the inner lining of the bag, two flexible conductors B also placed under the lining and a lighting block concealed in the same way and installed not far from the clasp in order to meet the conditions described in the previous paragraph. Only the lamp is visible through a window fitted in the lining of the flap.

 PL 3 represents the lighting block. It comprises a main support of insulating material D on which are adapted an incandescent lamp E and a contactor of the pressure type, essentially consisting of two flexible tabs F and F '.

At rest the tabs are naturally spread. Just press the: tab F for which comes into contact with F 'and closes the circuit.

 The set is compact, easy to conceal and does not harm the aesthetics.

 The system according to the invention is of interest to the bag and leather goods industry. Its practical aspect, its easy and inexpensive realization give it a character of great utility which corresponds to a need.

Device consisting in equipping a Bemmn handbag or any other flexible baggage of the document holder type, suitcase, pocket, etc. with a lighting system making it possible to illuminate according to the will of the user. inside the bag or its environment (PL 2) characterized by the simultaneous use of an electric generator (battery type) of conductors and an illuminating block.  2 Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the system providing the light is an integral part of the bag to be lit (PL 2).  3. Device according to claim 1 and 2 characterized in that the lighting system is autonomous and has its own source of energy constituted by one or more conventional electric batteries A (FL 1 and 2).  4. Device according to claim 7 and 2 characterized in that the lighting is given by an electric lamp E of reduced model and forming a body on the same support as a pressure switch (PL 3) the whole forming a space-saving assembly, easy to conceal in or under the material of the bag or luggage.  5. Device according to claim 4 characterized in that the lighting block (PL 3) consists of a main support of insulating material D, an incandescent lamp E, two flexible tabs F and F 'having a contactor role and able to close the circuit by pressure as indicated by the arrow (PL 3).  6. Device according to claim 3 and 5 characterized in that the electrical circuit is provided by flexible conductors B (PL 1 and 2) concealed in or under the material.
